: Looking to Unite the Fighting Gamers of Oklahoma
: IceAge70 January 05, 2013, 03:17:04 AM
Fighting Gamers out there, Whats up! My name is Ice Age and there's word that Lawton Oklahoma might finally get a decent place to run some tournaments. I've been talking with associates at Gamestop and there is a chance that we will be able to host Fighting Game Tournaments there soon. Its a long shot but its there. More word on that later. Also, still looking for people for most of the fighting games out there on Xbox Live. Be it King of Fighters, Street Fighter, Blaz Blue, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, or even Skullgirls, I'm still wanting people to play as well as a chance to help gamers become more competitive so we can make our own names out in the scene. You Feel me?! Get at me!

Truth be told - OKgamers is in a transition - while some that either hate FB or are already used to forums?  Use the forums...
...however the VAST majority of gamers are Facebook focused, and don't like / are scared or tired of forums?

As a result, OKgamers has been creating this resource:

www.okgamers.com/groups (http://www.okgamers.com/groups)

There you'll find several OK located FGC resources.  Also if you are in Lawton, there have been several tournaments in that area you should check out the forum "Tournament Aftermath" for more details there.

Also make sure you check out Techcon and other FGC supporting events!

Sure thing. I'd love to get something started here. I got streaming gear and such. Just need to find a decent location. Spreading the word is easy here in Lawton.

That sounds awesome. Does anyone know if there is something similar happening in Tulsa and the surrounding areas?

Fighting games be fun. However a lot of Tulsa use facebook for their stuff. While OKC i know likes those SRK forums lol.

It's why it takes a bit to get comments on here.

Anyone know of a location, in Tulsa or the surrounding area that a group of fighting gamers can practice or play at? I have The King of Fighters XIII, Street Fighter X Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations (all on PS3) that I can bring. If anyone has any other games for variety such as Perona 4, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Blazblue, Guilty Gear and even Playstation All Stars Battle Royale or any other fighting games for that matter to bring would be great! I really don't know how this works but if anyone is able to get this message to facebook.com that would be helpful as well. Look forward to having fun and playing any gamers out there.

Although I'm in Arkansas for school, I would definitely come to Lawton for a tourney. Especially a SF tourney. I'm from Lawton so it's nothing to come home.
