Hello all, my name is James Simpson, and I've been building games for the web since I was 13 years old. I founded GoldFire Studios several years ago as a formal company and have been building the business on the side while I was attending OU. I graduated last May and have been working on the startup full-time since then.
The focus of GoldFire Studios since last fall has been to create a solid foundation for the business before taking the next step (making really cool games). This phase was completed earlier this month with the launch of our new social gaming platform for open web games (
http://goldfire.me). The idea is that the Facebook platform is too generalized and clunky for really great games to flourish on it, so I decided to build something tailored specifically for games. The platform is completely browser-based using HTML5 technologies and Node.js.
Now we are gearing up to start work on an ambitious new game using similar web technologies as the platform (Node.js, Canvas, WebSockets, etc) and need to expand the team in order to do so (we are still very small). We are looking for people that are passionate about games and want to be a part of a team in whatever capacity necessary (whether that be programming, design, business, or a combination of everything). The company is profitable, so don't think this is just another fly-by-night operation that can't pay.
So, if you are tired of Texas getting all of the game development fun, please shoot us an e-mail at jobs -at- goldfirestudios.com for more information. You can also check us out at
