If your free, your friend is coming to game night tonight, for Soul Calibur 3, console version, my house @ 31st and Yale area. 7pm, till whenever we kick you all out? Ha. Sometime around 1 or 3ish usually.

Anyway, not that anyone is listening, but if you are, and your in the Tulsa area, hit me up on my mobile aim = mobilesaif

--

Akon - is this weekend. I leave tomorrow. I'll wander around Dallas TX at one of the largest anime conventions in the area. I'll wish for the SC comp of the locals, but I probably won't find it -_-

Anyway, that's life, and probably why I should just give up till 4

If your going to Akon or in the Dallas area, aim me. Otherwise, I'll be the one wandering around with my old namco stick...

Just an update -

Yes, game night still exists.  Yes, we play either SSB64, or SSBM, or SC2 or 3 - basically whatever there is a demand for.

Your Thursday nights free after 8ish or before 2amish?  You play these games, or think you have something we'd be interested in?  Let me know via PM, etc.

Update on this, posted a new thread about it, specially since it's SP's last weekend in town, etc.

Wow, this thread hasn't been touched in a while.

Anyway - if you have been paying attention at all, there is a 4 state SC tournament posted about in the tourny forum, and you should be paying attention to it if you play SC.

Also?  I've had ALOT of concerns about my gridcon playing friends.  I know you guys want to be 'pro' - but have not seen much competition other than myself.  I know with just knowing me, it's hard to get a real scope of what the difference in pro, and intermediate can be.

The March 29th tournament?  Is an opportunity for you to come to terms.

With 2 of the top 5 players in the nation coming?  You'll get a chance to see me get owned, as well as get your own ♥♥♥♥ cashed in on ;)  Also, I want you to get a better appreciation for the SCOPE of the community.  There are players out there that put more time into this than I think you really understand.  Just because I'm the only one you really lose to, doesn't mean you've played enough people to really get a feel for where you stand.

This tournament? Will change that.  Be there.

When we play - some play AC at Funhouse, the rest of us play both AC, and on the console.  I occasionally host SC at my house or throw events featuring SC.

SPEAKING OF SC...

...what would you guys think about creating - a "Tulsa SC Crew".

Maybe not crew - maybe fighters / fight club / something cool here.

The point is - to make some kinda 'brand' we can tag ourselves with.  Spread around through flyers, online, etc.  Say "OKgamers is the home of".  Etc.

(Chicago had the Team Mighty Chi.  TX has had some.  Etc.)

We give a cool spin to the idea of getting together and becoming a group.  Maybe can even host tournaments in the name of that group, etc.  I've kicked around the idea of maybe having it as a 'team A / team B', or the top 30 = the team name, and anyone else is simply a recruit, etc...  This established by the rankings from the last tournaments, etc...

ALL TO GET - more gamers interested in sitting down and REALLY PLAYING.

Maybe we could create groups to battle within the area.  Do it by region / city / etc.

Tulsa - if necc. could be broken up Midtown / South / North / etc.
Tulsa vs BA vs Bixby vs yea.

Then Tulsa area vs OKC area.

...then? OK vs other states...  Eventually we become part of the US, vs everywhere else.

I can tell you the NVGA chapters other than ourselves - WILL BE DOING THIS.  We already have rivalrys - AZ vs OK has been established.  NM - talked smack about me winning the Supercon tourny.  And well - let's FACE IT - TX is one of THE biggest pain in OK's ♥♥♥♥ known to man ;)

The problem is - if we don't have a rival creating mentality.  If we don't bond console gamers together - I'm concerned we won't have much to work with as far as a community.

SC 1 and 2 had the AC to build one of the best SC communities in the midwest...

...sc3 didn't have that, and frankly it hurt our chances, and strength.  SC4 - would be nice to create that / instigate that / yea.

Thoughts?  Backing of this idea? Crushing it?

We could simply be the "OKgamers" team.  We could simply be Team OKg, etc.  Idea's need feedback :)

Oh.  And if we come up with a team, when we travel we could even have a brand to put on shirts, etc.  Team Chi always had hoodies, etc.

Well with the release of SC4 will the movesets of the characters stay the same on both consoles?

Don't know if you guys heard or not, but a lot of stores are breaking the street date for SC4. A lot of people already have the game. Lots of changes. I suggest going out and seeing if you can get lucky.

... and then after that, try to find SC4.
