Tournament Planning and Hype / Game X Change tournaments

Game X Change is cancelling all fighter tournaments from this point on except Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I am going to see how that one turns out.

From this point on it is only going to be Shooters I guess. Wish we could have more variety but it doesn't seem there is the support for it.

Sorry guys. I thought I went through and cancelled all of these.

As of now there will be no tournament. I'm not sure if we will be doing anymore.

We recently closed our 71st & Memorial store and the other employee that helped me with the tournaments, moved on. We're currently in the process, slow process, of remodeling the Broken Arrow store.

If we decide to do any more tournaments. OKGamers will be the first to know.

3 People showed up. No tournament happened.

We're probably not going to do fighters anymore after this. Seems there is a bunch of talk but no action. This is the 2nd fighter tournament that has failed.

The time and money we have put into this is not worth it if no one comes. So looks like. COD and HALO is it...

Single Elimination

For coming out you'll also get 10% any used game or movie purchases.

We have 2 Large TV's or if you wanna use smaller. We have those too.
I'll be honest. Since this is casual I don't plan on moving stuff around too much.

Bring discs if you got 'em please. We may not have enough of MvC3. Actually we don't have any used.
Also, Bring your own sticks and controllers. We may have some extra controllers but don't count on it.

Aug - Blaz Blue & Gears 2(for Gears 3 give away?)

Oct - MvC3 Black Ops(for MW3 Give away)
Nov - MW3 and/or Battlefield 3

Titles in Green are have dates set.
Dates are not 100% yet. But this is what we are looking at doing.

Something we have been tossing around here is doing High Score challenges on old school games.

Basically, you come in and you get 1 shot to get the High Score for the day. If you win you get a $10 gift certificate. No charge to enter.

How does that sound to everyone?

Tournament Aftermath / Claremore - 2v2 CoD Black Ops - Game X Change - 4/2/11

That took FOR-EVER!

On the 2nd we had our Tournament and it went pretty well I think. We had the biggest turnout so far. 13 Teams showed up to battle it out.

Big thanks to Timmy Skorcher for figuring out how to LAN Black Ops. That made our lives so much easier. It would have been more of a hassle without his help.

If you’re interested here is a breakdown of the prizes.

1st:  $182 and Soap MacTavish statues.
2nd: $52.
3rd:  $26

We had a few technical issues here and there but for the most part it went pretty smooth. Not only was it our biggest turnout it was also our longest tournament. 7 hours to get everything done.

Thanks to everyone who came out or helped us out.

Our next one is Marvel Vs. Capcom on May 7th.

We are going to do a 70/20/10 payout. The more people playing the bigger the prizes. Along with some other possible prizes(more info on that soon).

We'll also be doing some kind of Door Prize for the people who enter the the tournament. Along with some other give aways.
