Canadian Highlander tournament
What is Canadian Highlander? It is a 1v1 competitive mtg format. Each deck must contain at least 100 cards, and contain no more than one of any given card. The exceptions to this rule are basic lands and cards that explicitly state that any number may be played (e.g. Relentless Rats).
In Highlander, each player is allowed two mulligans at 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. For every 100 cards within a deck, players are allotted 10 “points” towards deck construction (e.g. 100 to 199 cards allows for a maximum of 10 points. 200 to 299 cards allows for a maximum of 20 points, and so forth). Starting life totals are 20, and there are no sideboards. The point list can be found here: https://canadianhighlander.wordpress.com/rules-the-points-list-and-deck-construction/
The following cards are banned:
• Ante Cards
• Dexterity Cards
• Silver-bordered Cards
In addition, to get the format going, we will allow unlimited proxy cards through October. This is to give players time to try out different decks and get together the cards for them. These tournaments will be unsanctioned.
