My personal opinion, while Jungle Japes and Pirate Ship are janky, they don't hold A CANDLE to Green Greens.  If you don't believe me, line up a chain-throw character VS you on that stage, and see what happens.  Man, it's.  Bad.

Beyond that, I didn't see anything rules wise to freak out about; then again, I didn't really read as much as I could have either.

SO MY COMMENTS?

If we go MLG - we should SERIOUSLY discuss what happens with Green Greens.
CHANGE MLG STAGES - if we append the stage list, then you won't be used to banning GG, and could forget when you travel, MLG, etc.

DON'T CHANGE MLG STAGES - if we switch to MLG, and don't change, you'll HAVE to bann Green Greens to stand a chance against some characters, which means you'll HAVE to get better on some stages you might be banning now to avoid, ala Frigate, Rainbow, Lylat, Brinstar, etc.

Overall, I'm pro MLG, because that seems to be what the National community is, and will switch to.  Just look at Halo, yea.

However, I think the decision to just kill GG is big - if we do it, it had better be because we think MLG will eventually learn they are idiots.  If we do it thinking they won't, well it's like I said - you can get blind sided with other stages because you use your one ban to get GG when you travel, and forget about all those others stages you might lack on.

I say keep both types for certain tournaments.. example HxC might have to use the MLG rules regardless but at the TCC event you guys are more then likely using 1.2 right? What does NVGA go by? I think thats all that matters is in the end what big event will gamers be trying to get to?

Well, and I guess we could just adopt the MLG rules, and then have a "cleaned up" version killing off Green Greens, but that still brings up the problem I mentioned before with traveling, etc.  Having 2 sets of rules brings up another aspect, people can get confused, etc.  If we don't have one set of rules, it could get ugly -_-;;

A week later - no one other than Timmy and I asking some potential questions, no real discussion though, so I guess no one cares?

OFFICIAL CURRENT MLG RULES HERE - http://pro-circuit.mlgpro.com/pro-circuit/2010/orlando/super-smash-bros-brawl-1v1/rules-settings

One point of hope - Columbus hasn't started pre-reg yet, they might change the rules - we'll adopt what they do when it comes out, as everyone seems so Pro-MLG they didn't even question it.

Next MLG Events rules - once they fill them in - http://pro-circuit.mlgpro.com/pro-circuit/2010/columbus/super-smash-bros-brawl-1v1/rules-settings
