just as long as we can get enough people.
THAT is the problem.
With XBL - most gamers are lazy, and don't lan. Heck, even when we have Halo setups that we convert to GoW2 - we barely get anyone there unless we've had someone like Godmode or a GoW head rallying the troops to show up, etc.
OKgamers.com, a site focused on ALL GAMERS - only has events for "video games" because that seems to be the only crowd that CARES about having more events. (Tabletop is niche I guess, CCG have shops, LARPer's and computer LANs have their own structures and work with the same people we do on occasion...)
So - in a way, we are just doing what we can to serve those who care. Same thing happens within the video game genre however - if a FPS doesn't WANT to show up? Then no one does. We could try and get funding / prizes / etc - but OKgamers is all voluntary, and unless someone STEPS UP to do it, it's not going to get done. Also - why throw funding and efforts towards a crowd that won't even show up - that's MIGHTY depressing to do all that effort and not even get any reward for the site, community, etc.
I've done what I can for the communities I've had connections for. If you've got time, connections, etc - we've got ways to facilitate - you've just got to step up and act to see anything done.
We've got a big event in 1/23, and then another event a few weeks after that; perfect time to launch a new game at the Feb event. The event in Feb - has space as far as I know it - now is the time to act if your going to.
