Place -
Funhouse at the Riverwalk
500 Riverwalk Terrace, Suite 100
74037
Map: Google Maps link (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=500+Riverwalk+Terrace,+Suite+100+74037&ie=UTF8&z=15&om=1&iwloc=A)

Date -
Sunday November 12th, 2006

Time -

5:30pm - 6:pm - Signup for SC3 / Halo2
6PM Halo2 Tournaments start [we'll probably start at least a few minutes after that, just due to final setup / brackets]

7pm - Soul Calibur 3 Arcade Edition Tournament starts [This gives an hour to get the Halo stuff underway]

Cost -

Pre Registration = 8$  [Halo players - you get an additional discount if you bring hardware and we use it, see prereg.]
At the door = 10$

Pre Register here - http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php?topic=91

Your entry fee gets you into either or both tournaments, and 10$ worth of tokens.

1$ goes back to OKgamers flyers cost.  The rest goes towards location and prizes.

**Don't like a part of this setup?  Make your voice heard.  Show up.  Fill out a survey, we'll have one for you to voice your opinions on.  Make the next one better.  You will be listened to :)**

--

Event -
Monthly Tournaments.  This is where we get together and have several events at once.  We do this to have a set date that things happen on and thus it's easier to get the word out, and also to get larger groups of people, to help cross-promote all the games we are interested in, the use / interest in okgamers.com, and to have fun.

Dates - For this year we'll do them on the second Sunday of every month.

--

Games

We are going off the poll votes - so Halo 2 and Soul Calibur 3 AE.  [See pre-reg. thread for more details on Mario Kart]

As always - yes - we'll need Halo 2 hardware help.  If you bring hardware, and we use it, you'll recieve a discount on entry fee.

--

Rules -

Halo 2 - see further down in this thread for the discussion - going with MLG rules so far.  Due to time restraints, we'll probably always have to stick to a 'first to X kills, or X minutes'.

SC3 - Double elimination tournament.  Each game is 3 out of 5 rounds, 1 match.  Semi-finals and Finals will be 2 out of 3 matches.  Funhouse currently has 2 machines to practice on, and good luck!

--

Go out, spread the word, let's have another great tournament.

Feedback - always welcome.  Go out - and link back to this thread - it helps - trust me.  In fact, visit http://okgamers.com/media.php - and swipe that code - you can post it on your website or blog, and get the word out.

[looking for the old thread / want to make comments about the last tournament?  Check the Tournaments and Events Archive forum - look for 'monthly tournaments start' in the title.]

I think a 4v4 tournament would be really sweet, if we could guarentee enough people show up to play.  I really enjoyed the last tourney and will definetly do my best to get as many people there as possible.  Perhaps we should set up some sort of RSVP system so we could guage the feasibility of 4v4?

                                                                             SACK!

: II ALo II October 17, 2006, 10:42:15 AM
I think we should start it earlier and have a ffa 2v2 and a 4v4 it would be so tight if we could do all of that.. Maybe we could even have a 2 day event that would be really fun to.. Like start it on Saturday and end it on sunday. But just to have a ffa 2v2 and a 4v4 would be really fun also..
: Re: Tulsa/Jenks - Monthly Tournament - November 12th, 2006
: Otaku October 26, 2006, 03:17:36 PM
Well.. the only problem I have with 4v4 is that if four people are on one TV, the advantage of the better TV will be too great. Plus playing on a tiny screen really sucks.. If we could do 4v4 on four TVs, that would be great.. Also I completely agree MLG rules should be followed.. I can't find the rules on MLG's website but these are the ones that I have programmed on my XBox:

http://www.halo3forum.com/showthread.php?t=5244

I don't know if they're still accurate, the post is over a year old (which I didn't notice when I programmed them or I would have kept looking).

I have a couple of people in mind if we do 4v4, but the sooner I know what we're doing the better...

I can bring an XBox again, two controllers a copy of Halo 2.

- Jack.

Untill otherwise this will be where the tounaments will be held. I personally like the new funhouse it has a nice size andthe area to hold these things.

Wow, way to point out the obvious with the "Until otherwise" Dee dee dee! Either way though, Funhouse is actually quiet small. It suits us well because of traffic, its an arcade, and well, we have connections.

Until otherwise [You like that?], I'm back. It does feel so good to be back!

: Jared November 05, 2006, 01:18:45 PM

Thread updated.  Sorry for running late there, of the 3 tournament related OKg staffers - we've all  been really busy -_-

Anyway - Savage - just like I said on IM - sounds cool.  Can't guarantee anything, but we'll probably just set it up to the side and play :)

Hey guys fliers are out and about. If you swing by Funhouse you can see them, heck you may even want to take a couple so you can give them to people or put them places.

Spread the word!

This was a lot of fun. Look forward to more of them. Hopefully next time, we'll pull out some Mario Kart and Smash 64, Smash 64 prefferably. If we do, I'll get a few people to come for it. Thanks again for the tourny, really enjoyed it.

Then you shall have some.  Which would be easier - to pick them up from around 31st and Yale, or Funhouse off the riverwalk?

Also - did you guys chime in on the flyers / poll formatting?  See your email about the links to that, I sent out a newsletter email to everyone on the forums asking, and tomorrow/today we'll be finalizing the poll, so yea, sup.

Tournament Results:

Congrats to Sean for winning the SC3 tournament!  Next time though, I can't gurantee I won't be in it ;)

Soul Calibur this time was a bit harshly thrown together, next time it will run alot smoother!

--

Congrats to Pr1mo's team for getting first place, and team "Second Place" for getting second place lol.

About 5 teams total showed up, 4 formed teams, and one that formed afterwards.   We also have constant reports from all the people showing up that "next time, they'll be bringing alot more people' - so this December tournament should be pretty big.  SIGN UP TO MAKE SURE, and know what you can bring hardware vs not, so we can have things lined out ahead of time.

--

This tournament was a bit rough - as some of the OKg tournament crew kinda all had things going on in their lives at once.  This next tournament is already running smoother lol, and should be awesome.  Make sure you go vote for games, and then pre-register - and spread the word about OKgamers.com - the only reason we even do these events is to get the area aware of the site, so we can all use it, and not miss out on events and tournaments!
