I'm a pharmacy technician at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

That's understandable, hope you get a lot of people to show up.

Argh why do I have to have a job??  This sounds great but there's no way I can make it out to OKC that day.  I hope this tournament rocks anyway.

Wow this sounds cool.  Unfortunately I haven't been a 6-12th grade student for over a decade now... guess the young ones don't want to have to compete with those of us with "grandpas guitars".  Good luck with the event however.  And GH3 as the top prize??  That's AWESOME.

I unfortunately can't get out of work either, but I hope this is a success.  Good luck everyone!

This sounds like a lot of fun, but there's no way I can get out of work Friday.  Hope you all have a great time, can't wait to read the aftermath postings.

Ok here's a few thoughts from me...

2 month notice for people to really get prepared.
I like this idea only because it's hard for me to get off of work without some advance notice.  On the other hand, I'd like to have as many tournaments as possible, and don't think we should skip a chance to have one just because we don't have a full 2-month notice.

Have a 2 MAN SHOWMANSHIP - You and your buddy get down the base and lead part, and SHOW OFF!
[really like this idea...]
This is an excellent idea... but why not consider a 2-man skills tournament as well?  I think that could be a lot of fun.  People would have to sign up as teams, and anyone who's interested but doesn't have a partner could use this site to find someone who also needs a teammate.  The "cooperative" mode in the game is really fun, we should definitely incorporate it into our tournaments if possible.  I think this would keep the tournaments from getting stale if we change it up a little occasionally.  Would anyone be interested in something like this??

Maybe go back to 2 tournament setup - have a beginner (medium) earlier tourny, and then a later hard level tourny?
This seemed to work out well the last time we did it.  I like the idea that you can come to these tournaments and have a lot of fun (and win some prizes!) without being the "best of the best".  I don't want people to be discouraged by some of the insanely good "expert" players, and the split-difficulty tournament gives them a great chance to compete amongst their peers.

I guess overall we should try throwing in some new things from time to time, like different modes of play and such, just to keep the tournaments interesting and different.  GH has a lot of different options on how you can play the game, we should use those to our advantage.

I was very happy with how this tournament worked out.  It was a lot of fun, met some cool people, got my @$$ handed to me, and still walked away with some prizes!  You can't beat that for saturday night entertainment.

There were a lot of good players there, and I'm sure plenty of disappointment to go around (when one missed note can mean the loss of a couple of thousand points, it's heartbreaking)... but hopefully we can keep this momentum and have semi-regular tournaments from now on.  Keep practicing!  Oh and I can't wait to see the pics.

Wow excellent, I hope a few of those t-shirts are sized for those of us who are also Buffet Heroes.

Whew, I have to work every other weekend so this still works out for me.

Are we going to get to know what the prizes are in advance, or do we have to wait until the tournament day?

I'll definitely be there, and I'm bringing some friends with me.

For any of you who didn't go to the last one, it was a blast, don't miss out on this!
