After talking with Zeph, I can say that he told me Gears is a for sure thing.

Update: My team will be there for Gears. At least 3 of us. We will be there from around 10am to somewhere between 4 and 6, depending on how the gameplay goes.

Do we have any more details on exact info?

I'd highly suggest getting a list of game tournaments / times to go with it - as the more clear that info, the better your turn out will be for those kinda people.  A free format, or 'tournaments whenever' can be cool, but for spreading the word / getting turn out based on it, I'd highly suggest a list :)  Also - I'm kinda curious for myself as well.

You might even start a seperate thread here to cover tournament info - specifically.  That way your title can include the game names if you have enough room.  Else - just a thread for the information specifically might help, as some might not have paid attention to this thread, as they have no direct interest in the anime / non-tournament portion.

Okay - so should we just copy that schedule into that other thread Lonewolf started?  Or is it changing regularly enough it should be linked to for details?

I don't think there's a problem with an event with alot of things going on having 2 threads - specifically one to point out these kind of details, I just want to make that other thread Lonewolf started be useful if it's going to be there.  A good detailed thread on what all the games are there, plus when people can come to play - or a thread letting them know these things exist, and linking them to the most current info.  One thing I learned from doing the Minicon gaming last year - expect people to come JUST for the one tournament they care about - and let them know when, where and how much :)

Gears of War is not planned for a tournament right now... But, we will have it for play all day.  If we have time, or if there is more interest in Gears of War versus one of the other tourneys, we may switch it out.  Times for GridCon are 10am - Midnight on Saturday, March 3.

Uhm.  So after looking at this schedule - http://www.gridcon.org/schedule.html

I can see a few DEFINITE times you've locked down for tournaments...  And I understand they are tentative / you might be off by a bit - but if for sure - your going to throw them - I don't see a reason why not to include this information on the thread specifically to point out those games.

Please advise.

Did anyone compete in the Smash or Soul Calibur tournament?

How did they go?  Who won / with what characters / etc?
