<INSERT EVIL ADVERTISING>
Hey guys!  We're getting ready for spring cleaning in the Metroglow office, and figured we'd give away some copies of games we've received from various publishers.  The evil catch is that we ask that check out our website and swing a little 'participation' our way.  We currently have copies of Quantum of Solace for the PlayStation 3, so if you've been wanting a new game, we've got you covered.  We'll be including more games in the next few weeks, so make sure you stop by and check us out.

Articles and Reviews / I want you can haz revenue sharing?
« on: March 23, 2009, 05:29:55 am »
Hi!

As some of you know, we've rebranded PTD (Mag and Film) into a new thing.  We decided we needed the new thing because the current recession is scaring peoples advertising dollars into little holes, never to be seen again.

The new thing covers video games and hobbies, film and theater, sports and leisure, music and concerts, and parents and kids.  We figure if we expand a wee bit we can float this recession by offering more clients cheaper rates.  That's the idea, at least.

We are currently looking for individuals interested in writing, hence the post in this board.  We have a revenue sharing program that gives our contributors 100% of the AdSense revenue on the pages they write.  It's not 'quitting your job' money, but you just never know.

We have no 'bosses', or 'schedules', or 'assignments', or 'due dates.'  You write what you want to write about as often as you want, and we'll make sure as many people as possible know about it IRL.

The thing is called Metroglow, and we would be happy to have you.

« on: January 25, 2009, 06:01:16 am »
So for the 15 of you that aren't being constantly bothered by me on Facebook, we launched our film site last week.  It's here, and you can get the free movie passes (we've got some for you too, Tulsa) for super-minimal effort.

Yell if you have questions/want to make out with me.

General Chat / Come join PTD at the Skky Bar Ultra Lounge!
« on: December 23, 2008, 11:35:57 pm »
Hey guys!  I would like to cordially invite you and your booze drinking friends to the first PTD Magazine reader meetup at the Skky Bar in Bricktown on Jan. 16th of 2009.  We'll be partying thanks to the release of UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS, and want our readers to come help pack the house.

If you're pumped to go, come sign your 21+ name on the dotted line.  While you're at it, make sure you join our FB group so you can stay up to date on on monthly reader meetups.

I'm allergic to booze, so don't feel compelled to drink if you're not pumped for it. ;-)

General Chat / So where are you going for GOW2 tonight?
« on: November 06, 2008, 12:05:19 pm »
Hey guys and gals!

PTD Magazine is going to be on the prowl tonight, bouncing around the various midnight launches for Gears of War 2.  We're looking for some commentary and photos for the holiday issue of PTD Magagazine, as well as giving away tickets for a drawing of one life-sized Lancer we happen to have.

So, where are you going to be tonight at midnight?

We've got tickets for the sneak preview (which is Thursday the 13th @ 7:30) in both OKC and Tulsa.  If you want a chance to win a ticket for you and a friend, jump in and get signed up today.  We'll draw winners on Wednesday the 12th, and you can swing by your local Vintage Stock to pick up the tickets.

We'll also be giving away three copies of the new QUANTUM game from Activision away as well, so make sure you get signed up.

Good luck!

« on: August 25, 2008, 02:14:19 pm »
Hey guys, we're running a contest at PTD this week.  The randomly drawn winner gets a copy of Madden '09 and Rev Theory's latest album.  The contest is open to all our national readers, but I wanted to make sure OKGamers knew it was happening.

Good luck.

Thread Archives / PTD Magazine is looking for gamers to sponsor
« on: August 23, 2008, 12:18:53 pm »
Hey people,

In case you aren't tracking our thread in the Events forum, we announced today that we're going to begin scouting players for an OK-based pro gaming team. More details in that thread.

Hey guys!  PTD Magazine is hosting the August Frag Fest, and we've opened up "Spawn Camper" registration so our early birds can save 4 bucks off the price of admission at the door.  Tickets are 10 dollars in advance and 14 dollars at the door.  Admission tickets get you into the entire event -- there are no additional cost to participate in the tournaments.

This month we're including a couple console tournaments, as well as the usual PC gaming that we ran last month.  Console tourny's start at 8PM and will run till all the losers are whipped.  The Frag Fest is a great warm up for the HxC Tournament the next day, and we'd love to meet our readers in the OKC area.

Up on the board we have H3 on the 360 boxes at 8:00pm and SSBB on the Nintendo Wii's at 8:00pm as well.  Soul Calibur 4 should start around then as well.  The PC gamers will have tournaments starting at 12pm, and we'd love to hear what you would like to play.

The Frag Fest is being held at the CE Page building at Wiley Post Airport.

All tournaments will have a cash prize, so make sure you bring your A game if you're wanting to compete.  We've got a metric crap-ton of pro gamers in this city, so come out and school or be school.  We guarantee a great time either way.

We'll have concessions (everything's a buck!), plenty of power and sweet, sweet A/C.  All we need is you.

Hey guys!

My post got eaten in the great post eating of 2008, so I'll give it a second go from scratch.

PTD Magazine is hosting a 24 hour, 60+ seat LAN Party next weekend.  Doors open @ 12:00 noon on Friday, July 25 and the games will run until 12:00 noon the next day.  Registration is open now, and admission is just 12 bucks.  Use the discount code 'okgamers' on the registration site and save 2 dollars off admission.

We've got a wicked cool facility on the Wiley Post Airport, with room for 200 people and computers.  We're going to ramp up to that number over the next few month, so there are only 60 seats this monthGet your tickets now before they sell out.

We'll be hosting two tournaments, one at 8PM and the second at midnight.  Drop in our forums and vote for which games you want to compete in.  We've got a number of cool prizes to move out, so make sure you register today and get your seat in advance!

I probably said a bunch of other stuff the first time that proves how awesome I am, but I can't remember.  Just pretend that you've never met a dude as awesome as me and we'll be good. ;-)

See you at the party!
