So about sc2, the map pool still hasn't be released. Please announce them so I know what maps I need to pratice on

Thanks

Sorry about the delay guys. Work and life got super busy for a second.

These rules are going to change constantly, in particular I would like to hear opinions on the map pool. I may need a few more map choices, but I don't want to exceed 10-12 total.

I was just wondering what the map pool will be for starcraft 2. Will it be posted somewhere before the tournament?

I will be posting the map pool soon. The one thing I'm certain of is we will be playing on GSL maps.

Perhaps a group could be formed in Tulsa that holds their LAN on the same exact day at the same exact time. Then big screen TV could be setup and each side could stream the main LAN area to the other. So the Tulsa guys will see most the OKC area and the Tulsa gamers will see most of the Tulsa gaming area. Then get everyone on TS3/Vent server. Its not in person but its the next best thing.

Just an idea.

I'm starting to get people together for starcraft 2 here in Tulsa. Our first tournament is Sunday. We would love to network with people and attend lans or play with other people weekly / monthly.

Anyone who is interested in helping to grow the PC Gaming scene in Tulsa, OK please contact with me. I would love to work with you.

whats the map pool and bracket structure for sc2?  double elim?  best of 3?  down voting of maps?  loser picks map?

The map pool will be mostly GSL maps. Same for the tournament this Sunday. Which maps is not yet set in stone. It will likely be best of 3 and the loser picks next map. Double elimination depending on size of the tournament. I will give everyone a chance to veto maps or have a list of maps they do not want to play.

The tournament registration will be on z33k.com

As far as sc2 computers go we're not there yet. Two computers will not support a medium to large sized tournament but  I'm the only person whose stepped up and offered any hardware so far, and so I only have my own limited funds and resources to work with. I will continue to do the best I can and drum up sponsors for the event to get more comps there.

It's bring your own set up for now. . The tournament will probably feature 16 or so players in each main bracket. The rest of the area will have connections for people to bring their own set ups.

39
I will have two computers for official games and bracket play. You are encouraged to bring your own equipment to help make things easier, but not required.

FALCONNNN PAUNCHHHHH!!!

Please come! Despite what some people say, strategy games and fighting games have many similarities. Most of my friends enjoy both, and all greatly respect the skill & talent required for each type of game.

Name: Michael "Mickey" Williams
Game: Starcraft II
City: Tulsa

I've played Sc2 since release (though still not very good) & I have a passion for live events streaming and tournament organizing. I currently know several people in the sc2 arena and am working to grow the local community daily.

I will travel to anything (providing I have proper transportation at the time.) within a couple hundred miles to help promote or set up tournaments.

I will continue to set up starcraft II related events and tournaments in Oklahoma. I would even help to promote any other PC related gaming events and just generally attempt to grow and amazing community.

We are holding a Tulsa Barcraft on the 29th of this month..

See here:
http://www.facebook.com/events/345989125411637/

I think there is hope for PC gaming in oklahoma in the form of competitive RTS games. Watching them, playing them, all the more fun with food/drinks/friends!

LoL players are welcome to attend (please remember 21+, though future events will be all ages) and bring laptops to play LoL and join in the festivities. There is a TV in the back of the bar and one upfront that you can use if you want to stream so games / replays / what have you.

If enough of you guys want to come I will help promote a LoL tournament if anyone wants to run/manage it.

I will also try to set up some ss4 or mvc3 to play though not pc related.

I love LoL and I think our communities would play nice if co-mingled. Just a thought! Give me some feedback!

44
I'm sorry. I had originally intended on doing a LoL tournament but I don't have the equipment or know enough Lol players to support it. You are more than welcome to bring by some laptops to play on and set up your own impomptu LoL tourney as the place has decent wi-fi.

Didn't mean to misrepresent or anything.
