You can find the map to the DoubleTree here.  http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=616+W.+Seventh+Street,+Tulsa&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=34.313287,79.101563&ie=UTF8&ll=36.14841,-95.995831&spn=0.017084,0.038624&z=15

The games that we will have tournaments for now are as follows:

Super Street Fighter IV
Soul Calibur IV
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Guitar Hero 5
Guitar Hero:World Tour
Tekken 6
Blaze Blue

The BYOS (Bring your own setup) tournaments can be anything but not excluding:

Halo 3
Call of Duty 4
Gears of War 2
DDR

Keep in mind, with the BYOC setup, there is also 'no excuse' for us not having your favorite game!  If you have the interest, we've got dedicated space for you!

All you FPS gamers, please be aware that FPS event's require lots of hardware (TV's, Consoles, Controllers...) and right now we are lacking. (unless you just want to play one on one) Since not everyone plays FPS games we can't fully create the necessary setups to support a full tournament. Last year we had a staff member who stepped up to coordinate hardware efforts** for GoW 2. So far, no one has done this, thus FPS games have been sorely neglected, and remain in BYO status.

** A "Hardware coordinator" is someone who has helped taken care of the logistics of event hardware for at least their game. This mostly includes finding enough gamers with the hardware to make an event run, and working with them to make sure it shows up at the event!!!

(Keep in mind - OKgamers is a site to network gamers and let us know when things happen.  We have a volunteer staff that help at events like this simply to help get the word out about the site.  We only own what we personally have, thus the 'byo' mentality.)

So with all this in mind, we hope to see you guys there!

The days and times for the tournaments are now here and all BYOC games are subject to canceling if there are not at least 8 people signed up for them by the time they are supposed to start and if there is not any hardware for the game.

« on: July 08, 2009, 06:36:32 pm »
Hey I found these rules and they seem fair enough so how about it?

- Players will be randomly paired up at the start of each match.
- This tournament for Guitar Hero III will be a double elimination match.
- The player who wins best 2 out of 3 songs will advance.
- If by any chance there would to be a tie in the 3rd song, players will play a final round in
Battle mode.
- All games will be played on either an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3.
- All games must be played with standard Guitar Hero controllers.
- Controllers will be provided. However, you are allowed to bring your controller as long
as it is compatible with one of the consoles mentioned above.
- Due to time constraints, we ask that players use default characters and guitars.
- The first tier of the tournament will be played in Hard mode. Afterwards, all songs will
be played in Expert mode.
- Physical threats, racial comments, or inappropriate language and behavior will not be
tolerated. If you are warned and not compliant with such guidelines, you will be asked
to leave the tournament. Friendly trash talk is allowed (it’s part of the game!) but please
be courteous to the other players.
- There is no pausing allowed. If a player intentionally pauses the game, the Event

you’re encouraged to do so), but you may not offer advice to anyone playing a game.
You will be warned and failure to follow this rule will result in disqualification from the

have to forfeit the tournament. We are not responsible for your own responsibilities. If
you advance in any of the matches, we have the right to forfeit your
position if you are not present when your name is called.
- If a player purposely turns off a game while it is in progress, that player will be
disqualified from the tournament. Entry into future tournaments may be denied.
- Arguing with the Event Moderators about a decision may result in disqualification from
the tournament.

Event -
Monthly Tournaments are held by the staff of OKgamers to get the word out about OKgamers.com - a site for Gamers in Oklahoma to post events and tournaments, get together, and go to find out what's going on in our area.  [  Tired of hearing Oklahoma has nothing to do?  Want to help out the OKgamers cause of spreading the word, so we actually KNOW what's going on around the area?  - Join our staff! ]

We'll have these tournaments on the second Sunday of every month. [weather permitting] This is to make it easy to remember, and tell your friends.  Spread the word about the site - because it's a solution for the lack of communication and clear networking for gamers in the area of Oklahoma - not just because we are playing a certain game this month ;)  Want to help in a more official way?  Join the staff!

Come hungry!@#  Joe Momma's Pizza @ 8$ a box will be sold!  Proceeds will go towards OKgamers!@#  We are looking to get shirts, and other tournament supplies, and most of that will go towards OKgamers!  So come out, be hungry, and help support through pizza!

SHIRTS SHOULD BE ON SALE! - That's right, official OKgamers shirts should be at this event and ready to be sold, so be ready!  10$ for s-xl, 1$ per X up to 4x.  They are being printed now, and we SHOULD have them at this event!  YAY!

Official Sponsors:  These are the companies that want to see Oklahoma improve!  As a result, they help out with the venues, prizes, and the Monthly Tournaments themselves; so support them as they support gaming in Oklahoma!

Games

Halo 2, Super Smash Brothers Melee** [**= ONLY if hardware is met, see below], and Super Smash Brothers 64 will be there!

PLEASE HELP BY COORDINATING EFFORTS - go pre-register!  See link above!

--
Cost -

5$ location cost.  This gets you 10$ in tokens. [Tokens are Funhouse tokens, to spend on DDR, Time Crisis, Soul Calibur, and other fun video games, as well as ticket games they have at that venue.]

Halo 2 - 5$
SSBM** - location cost only
SSB64 - location cost only

So, for example - if your playing Halo and SSB64?  You'd pay a one time fee of 5$, which would allow you to play in every tournament.  Then you'd pay an additional 5$ towards the Halo pot, as decided on by Halo players.

Smash players, pay nothing beyond the location fee, as decided by players.

What do we do when we charge you?
The location fee keeps our place to have tournaments in business.  If there is a charge beyond a location fee, it goes towards a pot or prize, unless otherwise stated.  If there is a charge beyond the location fee, OKgamers reserves the right to take 1$ to make more flyers that promote the tournaments / events / getting the word out.  All the rest goes towards prizes.

Why charge for some games and not others?  This is how you the gamers have voted.

**Don't like a part of this setup?  Make your voice heard.  Speak up.  Request a survey, we'll have one for you to voice your opinions on.  Make the next one better.  You will be listened to :)**

Also, post tournament feedback is always welcome on the thread, which is moved to the aftermath forum once we are done!

--

Rules -

[Keep in mind, games haven't been finalized by vote yet, but this is the usual setup]

Halo 2:
XBOX 360's ARE SUBJECT TO TESTING.  We've had major delays at 2 of our last tournaments, as a result it's been asked to ban them, instead we'll use them ONLY for 360 only players, and ONLY after testing.
BRING AT LEAST ONE SETUP! - If we can have 16 setups, plus a few more 'just in case' setups listed on the pre-registration thread, then we'll be at full strength, and no one else will be asked to bring any additional hardware.  However, if we don't get confirmation of the 16 we need, plus several 'just in case' setups, we'll ask you to have your setup with you.  This is to assure plenty of hardware, and a fast running tournament.  We are working on a full list of rules.  Here is that thread: http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php?topic=130.0

**Super Smash Brothers Melee - Rules TBD / figured out on site.  This was voted in by 11 of you - so we now rely on you to provide 2 setups to be able to have this.  So, we need 2 tvs, 2 cubes, 2 games, and 8 controllers to make this work.  If hardware isn't brought, we reserve the right to cancel SSBM.

Super Smash Brothers 64 2v2 Teams - No items.  Stage set to random unless teams agree on a stage.  Team damage is off.  3 lives a game, win 2 out of 3 games to advance.  Double elim.

Go out, spread the word, let's have another great tournament.

SHIRTS!$@#  YAY!@#$

Why Sunday, and not X day?  Why bring hardware?  Why are we doing this? Check out this post for more answers.

OTHER QUESTIONS?!@# - Feel FREE to PM me, or hit up the contact form on the main website - WE CHECK RESPONSES DAILY!  PLEASE DO NOT CALL TOYDRUM! - That is my company that hosts this site, sure, but we don't have operators standing by, and Toydrum is not prepared to answer questions.  HAVE QUESTIONS - USE THE SITE CONTACT!  [ I also have aim - see profile, and mobile aim ONLY for emergencies - mobilesaif ]
