Well the advertisement says free but well not so much actually. This is a promotion run through amazon.com which gives you a free copy of gears all you have to do is buy a replica, 1:1 size, of the lancer and you GoW2 for free..............not really a great deal IMO but the gun looks freaking awesome and seems like a good idea for all you gear heads

No you are not invited

Yes G Wade likes men

No Kale does not have long hair anymore

Yes Casey and Hayley smell funny

Maybe we will invite you next time

No, actually we wont (see shoebox reference)

Well in all seriousness we are playing H2 all day tomorrow, and you really arent invited but take notice that if there is a response to H2 we might just throw a tourney and let you come and bring me gas and food money

General Chat / And now your gaming console will kill you
« on: May 23, 2008, 01:07:36 am »
I found this link off of Yahoo's mainpage

The next casualty in the console war might be you.

In their new 'Playing Dirty' report, environmental organization Greenpeace found that all three home video game consoles - Sony's PS3, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii - tested positive for a variety of hazardous chemicals, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), beryllium, bromine, and phthalates.

The latter, found in relatively high levels in both the Xbox 360 and PS3, are not permitted in components of toys or childcare products sold in the European Union. However, game consoles are not classified as toys and therefore are not subject to existing legislation.

"Whether game consoles are classified as toys or not, they can still contain hazardous chemicals and materials that could harm humans. The technology is available for the manufacturers to design out toxics and produce greener game consoles now," said Greenpeace's Dr. Kevin Brigden in a press release.

The report found that all three systems also contained significant levels of bromine, a chemical linked to impaired memory functions and other health problems. One of the phthalates found in the 360 and PS3, a chemical called DEHP, is also known to interfere with sexual development in mammals, especially males.

Hold on -- you don't need to start wearing a cup made of reinforced steel every time you play Halo 3 just yet. Greenpeace points out that the three console manufacturers have "avoided or reduced uses of individual hazardous substances in certain materials within their consoles." Nintendo's Wii showed no traces of beryllium in its electrical contacts, the Xbox 360 used fewer brominated materials in its housing materials and the PS3 circuit boards were bromine-free.

"Our test clearly shows that a greener game console is possible, said Casey Harrell, Greenpeace International toxics campaigner. "By combining the best practices of each console design, we could replace most of the hazardous chemicals found in these game consoles with toxic free materials."

And whatever you do, don't dump your broken 360 in the trash. The group has further identified game consoles as key contributors towards a growing waste product called "ewaste." Once console have reached the end of useful life, the group said, game consoles are "often dumped and end up in unsafe and dirty recycling yards in developing countries, where toxic contents harm both the environment and the health of workers."

General Chat / Just a little Halo story for ya
« on: April 27, 2008, 07:24:35 pm »
So i was online last night playing halo with a good friend of mine, we were goofing around playing FFA and what not on some new Foundry maps and we decided that we should play some double team bc we had not done that in awhile

(just FYI the friend i am referring to is LickMeGrundles/JWhopWithCheese some of you know him and have played with him before)

Anyhoo so we decide to play some team doubles just for fun, couple of games and call it a night. And well what happened after that was amazing to say the least.

He was on his roomies gamertag and was a big bad level 6, me being a 36 we knew we were going to run into alot of boosters and figured it would be fun to beat a few of them and laugh about it.

Well we play a few games and we are utterly destroying people laughing about it the whole time just goofing around well before we realized what was going on we had played about 3 hours when we realized we had not lost a single game.

We ended up winning 34 straight games before finally losing 25-24 in our last game

A few numbers from the night; totals from all our games

*800 Kills
*284 assists
*352 Deaths

+448 for the night

2.3 KPD combined for the two of us (this is not including the games we were winning so bad we killed each other to pass time)

6 games where kids straight quit out before the game finished

5 different kids with MLG in their GT (side note all of them got destroyed)

1 Kid claiming to be Ogre 1? or 2 cant remember his GT was Pro BR v2 and well haha here is how pro his BR was  :-\  http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=468500285&player=TH3%20R3LIGION

1- the number of great new strategies formed from the evening
*On opening break for every game on Narrows our first and only goal was to rush their Mauler at which point i would just run around top mid doing my best G Wade mauler whoring impersonation

2- the number of amazingly ridiculous quotes from the night
      * Th3 R3ligion- (after discovering the mauler whoring strat and picking up my first double kill with it) "hey yo have have you seen that vid '2 maulers one spartan?' "

      * Grundles- after beating one of the afore mentioned MLG kids for the third straight times "Seriously switch playlists right now we are tired of destroying you"

5 Hours and 13 Minutes of undefeated playing

34 straight games

24-25 the score for our first loss of the evening and we came back from 24 -19

All in all one of the funnest/most ridiculous nights i have ever spent playing Halo
