Hardcore LAN Center Help with snacks IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!
Timmy Skorcher:
OK! So I'm online shopping for things the LAN center needs and I came across a problem. SNACKS. What should I buy??? Snickers, Kit Kats, twix... maybe pop tarts or do gamers even like candy... (PULL HAIR SCREAMING NOOOOOOOOOOOO!)
So I need feed back. When we open up what kind of goodies do you gamers expect? Please include input on what kind of drinks we should purchase. ;) good looking.
Make sure you guys check out plasmaburn.net that website has alot of interesting gaming info.

This is quite the catch-22. It's great to provide snacks because it is providing a small revenue, however the downside is that your going to be constantly cleaning up and of course taking in the fact accidents will happen with soda and other liquids with consoles and tvs and what have you. Also there is gamer funk (I know it's bad but someone had to say it) some people have horrible hygiene principals and gamers can be the worst. You mix up a little body odor and Fritos or Doritos corn chips I think you know where I am going with this. Gamer Funk. If you have an area that's rather large so the lingering smell can dissipate then you're ok.
I don't want to try and lead you away from any money makers, but just wanted to share my experience with it in the past at various places that cater to gamers of all types. And video gamers are probably the better of the gamer species in funkiness.

Thanks for the input, I always enjoy feedback thats whats this website is for! I was already worried about that but when gamers come to hxc you brake it you buy it policy is in full effect. I wish I could let everyone starve to death to avoid accidents but we have to serve snacks. I am thinking about having a common area where you can eat your snacks but not be to far from friends while your enjoying a mountain dew and snickers. I am hiring a custodian that will be on top of smells from fritos and smelly people that will have the place so spic and span it wont matter if little billy is scared of water. I think I'm just going to spend 500 dollars on bulk snack and see what gamers like.

Hey Timmy might expand on that 500 bucks ;) Just to give you an Idea.. at the PB Tournament we spent 315 bucks on what little we had. happy to say though we did break even money wise there and still had a little bit left over. Not much though. We got all ours at Sam's but Im sure if you went through a distributor it may be cheaper, I dunno.

I agree, having a concession area would probably be more helpful especially if your going to have people in your place hours at a time. Also it should cut down on accidents.
