: OKC - Fight Club 5: Casual SSF4, Tekken 6, and more - May 15, 2010
: wnJp April 09, 2010, 10:09:33 PM
Fight Club is a casual event featuring Super Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, and other console fighting games. The goal is to give local fighting gamers a place to meet and play one another without the pressures of a tournament. Participation is completely free -- all you have to do is show up!

Date/time:
Saturday, May 15, 2010 -- 6:00 PM to close (midnight)

Location:
Cactus Jack's Arcade
1211 N Council Rd
Oklahoma City, OK  73127
http://www.cactusjacksokc.com/location.html (http://www.cactusjacksokc.com/location.html)

Cactus Jack's has been very gracious to host our events for free, so we'd like to encourage you to give them some business while you are there!

Cost:
Free, but you should bring your own controllers and/or arcade sticks (or hope someone will let you borrow theirs)

Games:
Super Street Fighter IV (PS3 and Xbox360)
Tekken 6 (PS3)
Other fighting games that you want to bring! (see below)

Here's how it works:
We will personally be bringing three TVs and two PS3s. One will be dedicated to SSF4 for the whole night, and the other will be dedicated to Tekken 6. In addition to the equipment we are supplying, we ask that anyone who is willing to help out to bring additional consoles, TVs, and/or games. We anticipate at least a couple more setups to be provided by other people, including Xbox360 setup(s) for SSF4.

As a disclaimer, please be aware that if you do bring equipment, you are fully responsible for it. We suggest that you do not leave it unattended if at all possible, as this is a public arcade with other patrons walking around. That said, we have never had an issue before.

If you are planning on bringing equipment, please post in this thread to let us know so we have an idea what to expect.

Assuming I am able to attend, I could bring a 38" tv and whatever setup needed.  I have them all.

I can bring an xbox 360 with SSFIV for sure. I may end up buying the game for ps3 as well and may bring that setup if I do.

I can bring a PS3 with SSFIV.

But my TV is a 42 inch. It may be too big for the venue.

I bring my 46 inch tv to the last couple of fight clubs.

Normally we have 2 long tables and have 4-6 setups.  Since this is the next FC with SSFIV, I'll see about getting a 3rd table.

What other events are planned on the 15th?  I see an Edmond PnT MW2 regional round on the 15th and RocknReunion for Madden, SSBM, and GH (the only game that actually makes sense at this event) and there hasn't been any post or updates on that in a month.

This event is for mainly for casual Super Street Fighter 4 and some Tekken 6.  I already have Tekken players telling me that they are going to this.  We had already push back the date for this event to accommodate for college students who have finals during the original date.

Yes, if there are no TEKKEN tourneys occurring then everyone else should push their puny events back IMHO.

They all make sense. We were asked to host a gaming tournament at this festival. Not a rythm game extravaganza.

As far as I know 90% of the tekken players play on ps3 pads.

Are you going to have monthlies for Super Street Fighter 4? I haven't seen it listed anywhere.
