Okay the official starting time is 6pm.

Turn 38th and garnett, drive through stop sign, house on the left with a mailbox in a flower pot. There will be a black truck in the driveway.

Anyway bring your setups to monthlies next saturday, there should be about 30 people there, if you can promote the game among them you may be able to build a significant Oklahoma scene.  If you want to see Mortal Kombat supported statewide, this is the place to do it: http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php/topic,3516.msg43053.html#msg43053

Don't mind my Kratos rant too much, I'm just a cranky old gamer with archaically high standards for competition and difficulty. As someone who has been playing in tournaments for 12 years I definitely understand the argument, and I disagree. The logic is a total failure, people are QQing because they don't have access to the matchup, not because of the ban.  I've read mountains of threads about it since lastnight. Besides Kratos is supposed to suck anyway right? I feel these sorts of  bans cater to more casual/lazy players that want to enter tournament play, while simultaneously excluding a demographic which should be able to compete with their preferred character.

I just feel hampering the diversity of characters for reasons outside of mechanical failure is poor form and detracts from an interesting metagame, indeed watching lowtier characters struggle against the odds to take high ranking spots is the most exciting thing to see at a tourney IMO.

Do you really think console specific characters should be allowed in a game that is cross platform?

REALLY?

This isn't as if it's just a new character that everyone has access too and can prepare against, this is character that only one version of the game can use and the majority of the fanbase will never see in action.  It's not a question of "lazy" or "casuals" it-  I'm going to stop there and just post a picture.

Show me the MK scene at monthlies and we can support this, if there is money in the pot next month I bet Texas would be interested in coming to take it, you guys ready to beat them?

There is no mk scene in ok, we are trying to foster one. I know the Texas guys from my soul calibur and tekken days. They would definitely take our lunch money.. but they are fun to party with.

Glad you are trying to build one!  People can't expect it to spring up randomly. You need to approach every gamer you meet and introduce them to the title! Encourage understanding of the metagame, host get togethers, and show up at monthlies if I throw these things for MK. Its so strange since MK has never really been super competitive, I wonder how it'll turn out.

This isn't my first rodeo, but thanks for the support.

You know I said that to one of my professors down here in Florida and they looked at me like I had two teeth, overalls with mud and holes in them and a jug of moonshine in my hand.  I didn't think it was THAT much of a country saying...

Freaking Flo-Rida.

It was very much a success.  Thanks for coming out Rudy, Mike, and Taylor in addition to our couple other regulars.  Definitely had some good games.  Look forward to you guys coming out again.  Hopefully we can find a few more people to make this shindig more exciting.

Well, currently those who are playing at my house are only interested in mortal kombat and wanting to play others who like mk. It's not like saifs house where they were building up the entire gaming community, we are just trying to build up the mk community.
