X A.

Has anyone looked into Twitter, Pownce, something like that for notifications.  There are alot of new IM programs out there at support Twitter and Pownce.   These Social Networking sites are like Instant Message Blogs  Is about the best way I can describe it.  Like I use Twitter for My Plasma Burn Website. And what I use it for is that I post Announcement messages Like Im Looking for a Writer, Or Im working on a new article about Fallout 3, Or Ive gotten extra Beta keys for XYZ game, etc,etc...  and that basically tells those people to come check out the site for more information.   Alot of Teens are using Twitter, I don't know how many Oklahoma folks use it. I don't hear many Oklahoma people talk about it.   But I know alot of gamers genre are information lazy? trying to put that politically nice?  And sometimes you have to put the information in front of there face.  And Twitter and Pownce does that providing they have it set up..  Just an Idea Probably not something that would get adapted here In Oklahoma But Id be more than happy to set something up If someone thinks it would work.  I know this dont put Fliers out. But outside of Oklahoma I know alot of gamer groups use Pownce more than twitter to get there word out on whats going on.

Just food for thought

Articles and Reviews / My Web-Blog
« on: August 04, 2008, 10:58:42 pm »
Hey saw this forum section and thought id pass along my website http://www.plasmaburn.net    we are just a couple of guys doing game reviews and giving our own opinions on things.  Right now we are reviewing Red Alert 3 Beta.   We'd love to get Oklahoma Involved.  From time to time we get some extra invites and never know what to do with them.  We are supposed to get 3 extra Beta invites to RA3 but I think we will be lucky to get 1 extra one.  But what we'd like to do is get people involved more with game reviews on our site, it has an interactive comment system just like any blog. It does not require an account or password in order to comment.   But we'd like to hear from everyone. And find someone who is interactive and give these extra invites to rather than letting them sit and collect dust.  I usually get anywhere from 1 to 3 invites from EA all the time.  When Crysis came they gave us 10 beta invites and we didn't have have a full site going at the time.  They seem to like us.   Anyways I will quit rambling.  and just say we are working on getting console beta games and it looks promising to start happening next month.  But I need some Dedicated folks to help me out.  Right now there are 3 of us at Plasma Burn 2 of us have been writing and the other does some of our graphics.  And the 2 of us that write, work full time jobs for the F.A.A, and we need at least 2 people dedicate folks to ensure we have the most recent and up to date information on our site. And I also want to be able to post any gaming events as well.

Id rather have people from Oklahoma help out than anyone else.

Requirements.
Must be at least 17
Better Grammar Skills than I do (as you can see im not the best but I try)
Dedication to Gaming.  (You gotta be motivated no matter what the type of game it)
Must be willing to do 3 or more articles a week.  (You can see on our site some are short and sweet but are informational)
Podcast (Must either have transportation to Mustang, OK or Have a PC capable of using Skype)
Must be Mature, but still have attitude and share your full personal opinion when writing.
and lastly must have basic Web Blogging skills. HTML/CSS Knowledge Preferable but not mandatory.

If your interested PM me here or email  [email protected]

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

Hey I was reading around on the MLG site and noticed they do 3v3 World of Warcraft.  How do they do that? Do they have there own special severs or special software they got from blizzard to do this? I know there is some rouge software that can simulate a sever out there. Anyone have a clue on this?  I Know about 15 people or maybe more that would be interested here locally to do PvP warcraft battles. I will put a blog post on my site (http://www.plasmaburn.net) later today asking the same and see if anyone has a clue if this is possible for the average joe.

Thats what I was thinking, I know when WoW was first getting started there where 2 or 3 pieces of software that you could use to simulate a server. the catch was it still had to validate your account via blizzard servers. So most people who got caught ended up with suspended accounts.

But I was just curious I Haven't played wow in little over 6 months now, and though maybe something has changed to allow for this.

Im sure that MLG teamed up with Blizzard to do this... otherwise Blizzard would suspend anyone's account that took part in this...

Hey was nice meeting everyone at the MGC.  I Pretty well stink using a controller on Halo (on a PC I might be able to play LOL) But like I was saying I will offer any assistance that I can to help out.  Im going to be practicing alot to get better with the controller. Not sure how many people are into Unreal Tournament games but back when we had lan parties that was the game to have. And I see its out on Console now so that will be pretty sweet.

Anyways lemme know how I can assist and I will for sure be there.

It was pretty full I didn't get to goto the one in Bricktown so i cant really compare. But it was defiantly more than the one in Yukon.

The MGC staff told me that this Saturday they are expecting at least 150 participants.

The numbers I'm hearing for MGC are MUCH smaller than that.  Can someone find out the number of players in each of the three main tournaments and post it here after the tournament tomorrow?  I plan to compete in Dallas and just want to know.

What I was told was that the Yukon Event was a bust when it comes to numbers they had about 14 participates in each game. The last 2 MGC's they had about 20 to 30.  They said it was the same last year.  The last event last year had about 180 participates.  They say they are expecting the same amount for this last event as it is in the same place as it was last year.  I will be there doing a live blog from inside McDonalds as I Do believe they have free wifi. And I will post on my site the registration numbers after 7pm.

Plasma Burn staff will be on site again Saturday. The MGC staff told me that this Saturday they are expecting at least 150 participants. I must say before I started Plasma Burn, I wasn't aware of any Oklahoma based gaming sites. And Im quite impressed.

Not sure who the owner is But if you would contact me, maybe we can see about setting up some Oklahoma events. I do have some corporate sponsors that would help.  Or anyone for that matter. I will be for sure checking back here from time to time.  I would of never of really know about these forums until PJones posted a link to my site on the MGC Article.

If there are any Oklahoma Gaming event going on that you think that Plasma Burn needs to know about. Please let me know. Id like to cover and give Oklahoma more exposure to the Gaming arena. We have a ton of potential in this state, and I think we get passed by alot because people stereo type the state.

Anyways glad to of found this site I will keep checking back in.  And I will see you all Saturday, Vamp and Myself should be on site. But just encase you dont know about the site, its  http://www.plasmaburn.net
