WHA - WHY DIDN'T MY GAME GET INCLUDED?
No feedback / hardware / something - go read the planning thread (http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php/topic,3304.0.html).
OKgamers has spent the last 5 years helping gaming groups we know about in OK; as for this event - no PC Lan?  We know of no PC community in OK that'll work with conventions and events / want to promote / etc - you one, contact us.
Board Games?  Because they have stores to support them, we aren't out to "compete" with businesses and duplicate efforts.
No DnD - same as Board Games and because we have no DM's on Staff.  No LARP - same as DnD.  No your console game - read above :)
PS3 vs 360 - Console Choice =  we go with the largest community backed event for this - Evo.  They went PS3, so did we.
(Due to MvC3 issues we've heard about, FUTURE events may be 360; we need to see who is who in the community, and after this event, we'll be discussing it to make sure we are good to go!)

Times:

Setup & Signups open - 11am (tentative) to 12:15pm
Tournament Start time - 12:30pm (tentative)
Halo Reach FFA - 12:30pm
SSB Brawl - 1pm
Forza 3 - 1pm
Blaz Blue - 1pm
SSFIV - 2pm
SSB Melee - 2pm
Halo Reach 2v2 - 3pm
Marvel vs Capcom 3 (MvC3) - 3pm
Soul Calibur 4 - 3pm

SIGNUPS FOR EACH GAME CLOSE 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE GAME IS SCHEDULED TO HAPPEN; be there BEFORE THAT to sign up!!
(ALL TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO DELAY AT THE EVENT, we do what we can, but issues can arise out of our hands; don't arrive late, that helps.)

Cost:
$5 Organization fee - goes towards covering our flyer printing costs, then towards purchashing more 5yr shirts, that will be given away later (ONE TIME FEE)
$5 per tournament entered - goes towards that games' pot! (PER TOURNAMENT ENTERED)

Those who pre-reg and state they are bringing hardware will be contacted - if they have a full setup, we'll be waiving their $5 organization fee!
(Yes, if you just show up with a setup, we'll probably use it, and be able to waive your fee - PLEASE work with us to pre-reg though, so we can know how much hardware we are going to see out at the event!)

No location fee - due to TCC's sponsorship!
No spectator fee - due to TCC's sponsorship!

PLAYING IN ONE TOURNAMENT?  That's $10.  Two events would be $15 total entry, etc.

Prizes: 100% of the pots from each game 60/30/10, plus the funds and prizes sponsored!

WHAT IS SPONSORED?
$100's in Tokyo in Tulsa 2011 MEMBERSHIPS!

YES - Pre-registering is FREE; all we are doing really is getting an idea of who is coming, how much hardware they are bringing, AND OF COURSE - what SHIRT SIZE YOU WEAR, so we can order the right amount of free 5th anniversary shirts!!!!

WHAT DO I BRING?
If you plan on playing in a tournament - your entry fees in cash and your own controller, as extra controllers will not be present beyond what gamers brought to use themselves.  (Cash?  Yes, sorry, no CC machine here guys lol.)

...and maybe HOODIE MONEY?!  SEE BELOW.

THE MORE HARDWARE WE HAVE - the FASTER THE EVENT CAN GO!

To help things run faster:
Are you bringing hardware?  Please try and show up 15 to 30 minutes BEFORE your game starts so we can set it all up, etc. (USE THE ELEVATOR!!)
Make sure you've read your games tournament rules.
MAKE SURE YOU REVIEWED THE MAP - and you know where your going - 2nd floor area of TCC Metro, as pictured on the map.

Did you say HOODIE?
As you may know, OKgamers 2011 shirt design - is what we are giving out FOR FREE AT THIS EVENT TO THOSE THAT PRE-REG, etc!
We know that in the past, the 2009/2010 design was put out as a hoodie, and was very popular; to not leave you that love hoodies "out in the cold", we are offering this ONE TIME CHANCE to order hoodies AT THIS EVENT!  It'll have the 2011 "OKgamers 5 year Anniversary" design on the front, and then the OKgamers logo on the back, we'll have one there for show.  Black pull over hoodie, white design, just like the 2011 5yr Shirts.  (One Time = we don't have a deal with the printer like we did before, different printer.  So, this is what we can do.)
SO, if you want a 2011 OKgamers hoodie, you'll only be able to order at this event!  We'll be charging you at cost, so if you want to order one, bring cash for your size(s) to order:
S-XL = $17   2X = $20   3X = $21   4X = $22   5X = $23  6X = $24

OKC'ers can work with FurysWrath to get theirs, Tulsa area myself, and we are looking into shipping options for those outside those areas.

Finishing up Rules / New Sponsors / surprises and more - coming soon.

Also can we add fighters  ;D

on that note, will there be room for casual set ups? I don't have any in mind, just wondering

I'll be running Melee here, I most likely need a ride as my car is a 2 seater sports care and can't carry a lick of equipment, its also uninsured, lol.

I have at least 3 full setups myself, a couple more will probably be sufficient, shouldn't be a need for pools. Should we invite Kansas to this to take all our money?

As for Brawl...  I assume the wii melee setups can be shared and my laptop can be used to run the bracket, but I'll be absorbed in the MvC3 event at the time some others will need to watch the bracket for that.

On that note I can pledge an MvC3 PS3, and maybe 2. I hope you have HDTVs up nya...

FAIR WARNING - this thread is BARE BONES - as a result some of our planning chatter here?  May be cleaned up later as we launch all the sponsors / get this thread REALLY GOING!!

Also can we add fighters  ;D

on that note, will there be room for casual set ups? I don't have any in mind, just wondering

Bees - I've made the entry fee and controller thing as CLEAR as I can think to make it lol.

Casual setups - as it is no...
...I KNOW you guys are used to OKgamers - we've been around 5 years.  This is our 5 year ANNI event, and frankly - we've got a big announcement to make...  that REALLY DOES affect things, from who'll be showing up to what all we'll have there...
...I wouldn't assume they'll be any room left for casual setups :)

Solidus - we'll be going full promotion on this event, so we hope to bring both Melee and Brawl players out of the woodworks locally - not to mention randomly from around the area.  Usually Typ_Ex and others would invite those gamers, so of course, please do so.

As for hardware - whatever the users are fine - is fine by us.  I'm sure double entry will happen a lot with Smash, so it'd make sense.

AF - thanks for the PS3 update - like I said we'll probably blow a lot of this off once we are really promoting this thread / aka once I get some of the big sponsors listed, etc.

BBCS2? if its out? and if its out beforehand, how long would it need to be out before we can consider it playable?

I would say a monthish beforehand but I doubt it will be out that soon

So if these are all on ps3 im seriously upset. We should definitely have a vote on the consoles people want me and timmy talked yesterday about how sooooo many more people will sign up for a mvc3 and ssf4 360 but none will show up for ps3. Idk well im trying to get back in playing no matter what so anybody got a 360-ps3 stick converter or something?

If you would like I could make this thread for you since I just TOd a decent size tourney here in the southwest. What is the rule set for Brawl?

I wan gonna say, I posted this on SRK and Dustloop in multiple areas for SSF4, MvC3 and BB, so people do the same for Smash lol.

and ya a vote happened and it's PS3, and NOT COMING PERIOD for a console difference is sad, borrow someones stick or controller or buy a ps2 controller and its converter and get used to it.

Might have to dust off the GC controller and get a ride to Tulsa. Still kicking myself for missing OHSNAP. >_>

I'd enter a few of the other fighters, but if it's PS3, I lack a stick or the funds to acquire one.

not unless you've customized it to be so. Most if not all standard sticks come specific to one console

Yeah, you can modify your stick to work with both consoles. Ive had a buddy that was working on that.

Anyways, i'm down for all this. You said that there isn't really room for casuals?

Do you want me to bring some hardware? I'm gonna at least bring my fight-stick, which ill let people borrow. (As long as they aren't playing against me!) :P

PnT has a MvC event starting at 12pm - so to try and compensate I've pushed the time back to 3pm.

That gives us 6 hours - so, depending on hardware, that should be enough.  MVC CREW - we will need to work with you to make sure we have plenty of PS3's / Copies present to keep us moving and finish this on time!!

Other updates - NATIONAL corporate sponsors coming on board for this, REALLY EXCITING!!!  Not to mention a FREE OKGAMERS SHIRT FOR PRE-REGISTERING?  TOO GOOD!

More details to come.

I'll see what I can do to round up more MVC setups.

Still checking on Smashboards post, would you like me to post it? its getting late so i need to make sure i have the right details. I'll also be lnking directly to this thread.

I'll probably be using Oh Snap rulesets for melee, how about Brawl ruleset? I used WHOBO 3 ruleset for Oh Snap and it worked out pretty well, i got good feedback on stages (looks like the community is trying to up the number of counterpicks)

Solidus - right now I've been kinda cut off from the Tulsa smash players lol - I'm not where they gather anymore, and I don't go to their meets...  THUS, I haven't been updated on anything lately lol.  If OHSNAP's rules were kosher to all involved, we are down to just use those - we don't want to mangle the standards currently, etc.

Would be good to get them up soon - as yea, new tournament goers won't know the rules, and it's good to let them get familiar.

Posting on Smashboards - would appreciate it, but yea, I need to lock down some details.  Give me a few more days to flush out this thread!  (however, I can tell you right now - sponsors are going to be changing for weeks as we add more and more - so just refer back to the main post for that sort of info.)

I'm gonna try to make it to this for SSF4 at least. Could potentially bring a PS3, but I have no small monitors. Previously brought a 37" Westinghouse for a setup and it's a pain in the ♥♥♥.

Organization fee = Flyer costs; once those are covered we throw that money back into MORE FREE SHIRTS!

As for people bringing full setups - no, they are not going to have to pay that.  Haven't had a chance to voice that, sorry :)

RULES - need 'em for a few of these;  Solidus - cool if I gank your SB thread rules and update the 'current rules' thread in the Planning forum?

Timmy - can we get a MLG style list of rules for this 2v2?

MVC - should we start it earlier?  I pushed it back out of consideration for locals wanting to go to multiple tournaments, but at the same time, I don't want to endanger our event either...

And I've been busy - LOCKING DOWN MORE SPONSORS - MUA HA HA HA HA.

PRE REG TO GO UP IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO:  SPREAD THE WORD, we'll need you ALL to pre-reg FAST, so we can get your FREE T-SHIRT SIZES RIGHT, and ordered around the 4th...  SO YEA - spread the hype, and make sure people are READY once it goes up!!!

( shirts are first pre-reg, first served; we should have enough for everyone, but if we run out, it'll be the pre-reg's getting priority, etc. )

Personally I think Seeding Causes more Confusion as not everyone that comes to play knew about or participated in the online tournaments. As you know we have handfuls of people that come to tournaments that have never been in one before. Or some that have but just come to see how good / bad they are ... etc

However there are some good things to seeding as it would make it in a way more fair to those causal players and good players. You obviously dont want all the well known players all on one side of the bracket.

But for the sake of the confusion factor, and knowing that most all of us & the TO's know the regulars a bracket and be made fairly and efficiently.

Just my "personal" 2 cents, as i am not speaking for OKgamers on the topic of tournament seeding, just myself.

ON THE SUBJECT OF SEEDING:  I'm going to be a bit of an ♥♥♥ here - and say IF YOU DO NOT LIKE SEEDING, you CLEARLY ARE NOT FULLY AWARE OF WHAT IT DOES.

**Most the time** there's only 2 scenerio's to be had:

Good players are separated by seeding, and a bracket is balanced.
OR
Good players are randomly thrown in, and chaos insues.

Why is that?  It's simple:
With Seeding - we are taking what we KNOW - the good players - and putting them as far away from each other as possible; sure it stinks to run into them first round, but in a double elimination event?  You at least get a chance to gain ground in the losers bracket, playing people probably more on your level of skill.

WITHOUT SEEDING - you run into "the best" and then guess what - you hit them in the losers bracket too.  Why?  Well, without intelligent design of the brackets, balancing through seeding - good meet good - RIGHT off the bat.  One team advances, and the other good team can literally CLEAN OUT the losers bracket, team by team until they get to the end anyway.

If there are 2 "great teams" - and they meet first round?  One team decimates winners, the other losers, and people - quite a few at that point - have NO CHANCE of meeting fair competition in the losers bracket; and that's just no fun.

--

Now - I said there were "usually" only 2.  The third?  A great team shows up - that is unknown; and wreck that slightly.  For fighters, this rarely happens, but does; for shooters, well your games can be played online, so it creates way more 'unknowns' with skill.
Can we control this?  Of course not - it's THE UNKNOWN.
However, we can help safeguard against it with seeding.

SEEDING IS NOT FOR THE GOOD PLAYERS - IT IS FOR EVERYONE ELSE.
It sucks to 'double out' - but usually, you lose your first match, you go up against that match in losers - and if the bracket is balanced?  You have a much better chance against that opponent.
Nothing is WORSE than not having a chance in EITHER BRACKET.  Seeding helps prevent that.

...yes - helps.  Because we throw open events, anyone can show up, and you never know who will travel; so we do what we can :)

SEEDING = IMPORTANT, and valued.  If you are hating it because you've never been seeded, that's petty.  If you are hating on it because it sounds elitest - it's not.
...going back to the "two good teams" reference?  What does it matter if they play first, or last - they'll end up playing no matter what...  What DOES matter - who had a chance to play the other teams other than say "the top 2".

If two "good teams" meet first round?  You run multiple people through the double out / triple out grinder.  We seed?  We can help prevent many many more from even having to play those "top two" - and play against people way more on their level, etc.  AKA - A FUN EVENT TO MOST!

--

Why did we approve a seeding event?  HxC is a sponsor, and we've done it in the past; it's no big deal when handled properly, which we do.  It literally only helps players, not hurts.

Well put saif.. so example playin in our pre qualifier helps us mainly have an unbias opinion cuz right now.. im telling you whos going to be our top 8 seeds so far. Wallshot and his teammate will get number 1 seed because they have more okgamers community wins. Gwade and viper PURELY because they are halo legends so #2 or 3 seed due to most Halo tournament wins.  rips and his teammate will get a 4 seed. Also surprisingly if Jorsky shows they will get the Number 2 seed cuz he won our last event with an unknown teammate. So if you guys wanna roll with that ok.

Timmy - I believe some of the people are having problems with the pre-reg event because we haven't advertised it / talked about it?   So - when did you plan on even having the event?  I know we need to get a link up to it - but if it's like  THIS WEEKEND or something, we should probably re-consider moving it back to a few weeks out, etc?

Seeding = good.
People being confused, etc = bad.

PRE-REG - will go up in a few days - sorry, give Fury and I some time, we've been more busy getting $$ and Sponsors than the pre-reg totally finished :)

Ok should I type up some instructions on what to do? I can understand fighters being confused. But shooters not so much. Its just like gamebattles....  sign up.. join halo reach ladder... join okgamer pre qualifier wait till the event which is one week prior to the okgamers event. What I might do is just see whom all is going and start having people compete and whomever has the most xp will be the top rated seed... IDK we will talk Saif.

The Seeding Tournament is supposed to be on the 20th. I don't know what you're talking about Timmy, but nobody should get a seed just because they've placed well in the past. Seeding should be solely on the Seeding Tournament. People who sign up on the day of will be seeded as they arrive. This REALLY should not be a complicated situation, but I don't know all the politics involved.

Saif, we cannot post the Online Event until we have a pre-reg set-up. As per request, we made it to where only people who have pre-registered for the live event can register for the online tournament. I delete any team that signs up for the Online Event prior to pre-registering.

Seedings really only work on an extended period of time and when team CONSISTENTLY show up, which has yet to happen. But if you guys are dead set on using seedings then go ahead, I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it, just putting in my 2 cents.

Not true.. Wall Shots team has won 3 Halo Reach events. Consistently. Blake... it does make sense this is an OKgamer event.. the events I'm going off of are all documented on this site in the aftermath section. The only reason im giving  Gwade, Viper, and Jorsky higher seeds is cuz I have seen there teams play Reach. Viper just went to the national FFA tournament... You feel me? I guess we will be seeded 2nd cause I personally have never placed outside of the top 2 in any 2v2 or 4v4 tournament in halo 3's life span in Oklahoma or we will be THE UNKNOWN team.

SEEDING IS NOT FOR THE GOOD PLAYERS - IT IS FOR EVERYONE ELSE.

Your right BUT lately there has been 2 other teams winning reach events. So a 3 or 4 seed for you and viper (I assume) is still top 4

Yea you're right wall shot team won some LANs..  on reach. No worries, I'm good at brackets. In the end top 4 regardless of place doesnt matter cuz you guys would all be 1 seeds (like a ncaa basketball bracket). Its all about spacing good teams away from each other. its the new people we are worried bout.

Sure, most of all ask them to bring setups since my lack of a large vehicle at the moment is inhibiting TV transfer. I'm gonna see if some of the local people want to cram some TVs in their car.

Do we have an equipment tracker thread or does OKgamers pretty much have equipment covered? Just wondering what kind of turnout were trying to provide for.

Yes Thats why we are asking folks to Pre-Register.  So We Can Track How many are coming and How Much Equipment is Coming to know what else we need to come up with.  The Equipment tracker is another page the admins can look at.  Id post it here but it has everyones email and such on it so I dont think it'd be such a good idea.

I Can tell you where we stand though.

41 Pre-Registrations.

Blaz Blue and Forenza 3 seem to have no interest.  Ony one each have pre-registered for it.

SSBB Melee only has 2 registrations.

16 + 8(these 8 are from Timmy for Halo)  TV's
8 Wii's
4 PS3's
7 + 8(These 8 are from Timmy for Halo) 360's

Thats what the Equipment list is showing thus far.  I do think we are going to need more Tv's for sure.

Dont forget When your looking at bringing equipment make a check list.

Cables (Video, network, Etc.)
Power Strips
Batteries
controller Chargers if needed..
And the Game Disc's   Keep in mind they need to be fully unlocked.   For example..  I could bring my PS3 and Wii with me but it would do us no good because even though I have the Games i dont have everything unlocked.

Pre-Registering Not only gets you a free T-Shirt..  but it also helps us know what are we gonna need Equipment Wise.

I Highly encourage Everyone to Please PLEASE pre-register.

Okay well here is what I personally am bringing.

1 Wii (Brawl or Melee)
1 Gamecube (Melee)
1 Extra Melee disc (thats 3 discs total)
1 PS3 with MvC3
Tentative:
1 LCD
as many CRTs as need to be crammed into the car.

I won't vouch for other players that are attending but are surely bringing setups.

Less than 20 days away!

Take a look  -  http://www.okgamers.com/events/tcc-metro032611/gameroster2.php?tourn=2

Only 2 People  pre-registered for SSBB Melee and only 1 for Forzena, and 1 For Blaz Blue

If your Interested in playing these games make sure you pre-register for them.  I think the Rule of Thumb is you need atleast 8 people to have a Tournament.

RULES - YES - we need to get them posted.  Solidus has already posted a link I think I can pull from?  Timmy - can you post Halo's rules so we can work that in / post a THREAD for it in Planning and Hype so we can just reference that please?

Animefreak - can you do the same for BB / anything you wouldn't mind :)  We just need any rules to link to as a thread in the Hype forum, makes it easier, etc.

--

FREE SHIRTS - ARE AVAILABLE.  Pre-register - to get your size!!  If you invite friends, who do not pre-reg, and just show up?  We'll still have shirts.  We'll have to exceed last year's TCC event by 75 before we run out ish - so, PLEASE HELP US BY PRE-REGISTERING, and we'll see you at the event!

HOODIES - YES?
We realized - hoodies were a big success last year; but obviously that wasn't budgeted in for free / etc.  So - we already planned to order more free shirts to give away after this with the 5$ organization that is left over after covering flyers, etc?   When we do that order, we could ALSO order hoodies for people.  However, we'll only really have one shot at it with this design, no RE-ORDER / RE-ORDER like we did with our first design, this is IT, one time.

And, since you'd be PAYING for your hoodie by ordering, we wouldn't do sponsors on the back, we'd do www.okgamers.com, etc.

The hoodie would be black, pull over.
S-XL = 17$
XXL = 20$, XXXL 21$, 4X 22$, 5X 23$, 6X 24$

You would ORDER THEM and PAY FOR THEM at 3/26; we would order them, and then for OKC people - get them to Furyswrath.  For Tulsa area, you'd have to meet up with me.

...for outside of those two area's / hate me or Fury - we could see how much it cost to ship them?  Doesn't Fed Ex have a flat rate if it fit's in that box?  So - we could offer that, - pay for the hoodie and whatever that box shipping fee is, and we'll ship it to you afterwards...

THOUGHTS?  At this point, I say we go for it for those that want to order them, but thought I'd gauge interest / bounce it off you guys!

OH YEA - WE LANDED 2 NEW SPONSORS!  HA HA!  MORE FREE STUFF AND AWESOMENESS!  This event = epic.

Flip - BOO YOURSELF!  lol - the design for 2011 is CENTERED - so we can't do a zipper :(  HOWEVER!  It's a great design, plenty of people have been loving on it, so I hope you'll be happy even without the zipper :)

If anyone is interested After smash is over Wii's should be free for TVC, so bring your TVC discs.

AWESOME!

--

HALO FANS!  Something I should clarify on the pre-reg:

At first - we weren't sure if we had enough time for FFA, even saying not to count on it; then we found out we have more time, and encouraged people to bring additional hardware just in case - to assure a FFA was good to go!

...however.  With that initial confusion on whether we'd do it or not, I forgot to add it to the pre-reg!  MY BAD!

Yes - we are having the FFA.
Please - just pre-reg as 2v2 and that'll be fine for now!!

And - while HxC is sponsoring hardware for several setups, we can always use more hardware just in case!  So those that can bring a full setup we use - will get their 5$ organization fee waived!

--

BRINGING HARDWARE:  OKgamers is for gamers by gamers; but not a LAN center or business.  Since we do not charge anything for events, we make no money - to buy anything.

So - while we do events like this, organizing and working with communities, we ask gamers that can - to bring hardware.  At this event we've gone around and asked the active community gamers we knew - to bring hardware...

However - they can get sick, etc; so we ask any gamer that can, to consider bringing hardware - we'll waive the 5$ organization fee.  A FULL SETUP = Monitor, Console, Game; controllers are to be brought by EVERYONE, so you don't need worry about controllers.

On the subject of hardware - no lag monitors are often the problem; and most people don't have them to bring out...

The SSF community has brought up that we should consider charging gamers a fee to buy monitors, so we can help long term - we'll be putting together a survey for this event - and that'll be a question on there.

SO - IF YOU THINK WE SHOULD BUILD UP MONITORS?  Make sure you take that survey and fill it out.
SO - IF YOU THINK WE SHOULD ALWAYS JUST ORGANIZE? Make sure you take that survey and fill it out.

--

LESS THAN 8 PEOPLE SHOWING FOR YOUR GAME:
Halo, lol not happening.  SSF, and Marvel - doubtful.  Smash - hasn't happened in the past...

...however Forza - we are going out on a limb for.  Blaz Blue, Soul Calibur - might not have a huge turn out.

IN THE PAST - OKgamers standard was less than 8 - no tournament; no more of that.  After talking with gamers we've found it's better to do a Round Robin if less than 8 show up.  Which, will be our policy for this, and in the future.

(COURSE - A RR WOULD BE GREAT if that "Tekken player that supposedly will pick up SC4 for a month and beat everyone at the tournament" - that way we could all own him...  muahahah. )

See you guys in just a few weeks!

FIRST POST UPDATED - some rules are up, as well as updates on Prizes, Hoodies, and a few sponsors, etc.

As far as bringing equipment- what about bringing a CRT instead of a monitor?

Community Dependant - SC4 players don't care, SSF players care a lot :)  In the end, we'll use whatever we can, unless there is an issue with lag / concerns / etc.  With a CRT - you at least don't have to worry about lag :)

Zolarie - that's awesome!  Thank you Game X Change!!

Digital - look who's back!  Do you think you could help out with hardware?  We have a couple of people bringing PS3 SSF, however the more we have - the faster we can power through and handle the numbers present, and then let you guys have free play after that!  Especially with people traveling in and such, we want to do that where we can!

Wally - wow.  Thanks for assuming a bad turn out when we've already got 20+ people pre-reg'ed :)  While the free shirts could be skewing our numbers, traditionally pre-reg is about 1/4th the actual turn out, so.. . Uh.  Yea, by the normal #'s we could see 240+ people, with almost 100 halo players?  Anyway - there will be a gamer survey about payout, so please make sure you and your's weigh in there :)

Scorcher - am I behind the times on 2v2's - and you've been doing 80/20?  Also, to be frank?   Wally's not even factoring in the 500$ in hardware we are just handing 1st place Halo in Track-Scan's alone, not to mention Joe Momma's and other tournament sponsored aspects - man, talk about rude!!

Current interest from Arkansas is at 6 people. We're making plans to attend as I speak.

Awesome!  Please make sure you guys pre-reg - and PUT IN THE RIGHT CELL NUMBERS - the very REASON we have the 'cell number' field on that form?  So that if you guys run late / etc - we can call you to check on progress :)  Also, if there's anything we can do to help out, let me know!!

And I hope Mike Weng shows up, hasn't he been at like every TCC event we've done practically?  lol

As long as it's settled amongst the rest that the PS3 is indeed the platform of choice and nothing else, then I wont see it as a problem to bring a TV and a PS3.

Our last foray had us congregated around TCC's gigantic Samsung TV. It was awesome, but I think it was our number one culprit as to why the SFIV tournament dragged on the way it did. I recently bought a brand new TV to replace another 42 inch I got, and I have no reservations lugging it to Downtown Tulsa, but going to the ranbats in Oklahoma City taught me that the subtle differences in the refresh rates on TV can cause a notable difference in lag, especially if you're going from TV to TV. This can cause some disorientation and I would want to avoid that as much as possible.

Regardless, I will bring the 42 inch that I have. If there is no room for a TV that sizes, then, by God, I'll make room.

Anyway, I got my paid time off request put in and I'm getting my groove back. Expect a much trickier, stronger, and more meaner Zangief this time around.

Care to list the model? If it's an LCD, there's a 90+% chance that it's still laggy compared to an CRT.

lol - don't spam the thread with bad humor - lol.

--

TIMMY!  READ THE THREAD!  lol, don't ask people to bring hardware for just brackets, that can seem totally insulting hahah.  BAD RICKY!  Also, if you pick it up I've got a few 14 inch crt monitors you can use to dual display off your laptop.

Smoke - ahh yes, Medical school, that and WoW kill so many good fighting gamers...

Wally - well, from what I'm seeing we WILL have a good turn out from Halo players, considering very few of you ever pre-reg, and well, that means what we have seen can be tripled and be potentially accurate.

Digital - WOAH 42 is a bit big :)   PS3 - turns out we have a solid group of SSF'ers down in OKC that assure me PS3 for this will be fine; in the future we'll be open to 360 discussions since evidently for SSF it "Truly does not matter what console, but 360 has advantages - but can also red ring" - and the MvC3 scene seems like they might go 360 for a national standard as well;  as for this event we posted so long ago ps3 that we'll stick with it, and that seemed fine by that community; which appears to be our largest / most hardcore in OK anyway.  As for the OKC Ranbats ran by Salty series, we actually approached the new version of them which makes up the group mentioned - "G-Flo", unfortunately they have declined helping out with monitors / hardware at this time for 3/26.   However, we do have ORU and OSU (heh) - bringing one setup each - so we SHOULD have a base, I just wanted to shore that up - the more setups, the faster it goes, and the more freeplay AR and others who travel can enjoy until at least 8:30pm, 9ish.  I rather you not endanger a huge TV, and to be FRANK - if we get 200+ people showing up to this plus all the sponsors/exhibitors, space will be at a premium  (it's kinda turned into a mini-convention lol).  So, instead could I talk you into coming by my house at 31st and Yale and adopting a CRT to take with you for the event?  With 200+ free shirts, my car is suddenly more full than usual, and by 'adopting a crt' for this event you'll help us effectively by providing that setup that way :)  If that's not possible please just bring your game / console, and we'll find another TV to merry it up to; most likely a CRT from this collection - make sure you bring your AV jacks!  Organization fee waived either way, thanks for being so supportive!

--

SPEAKING OF HARDWARE:

Halo - has 8 setups sponsored by HxC, as well as Game X Change getting in on that - so I don't think we need to be worried; Halo players that can, please do bring hardware so that we can blast through that FFA, and get your 2v2 finished properly.  Your 5$ organization fee is waived when we use your setups.

Brawl - seems to have at least 3 setups coming, and SSBM 2?  Those are low numbers, but I do believe Solidus is working on it - Tulsa, do we know about Josh / Chuck on hardware?  I'll bring mine of course - getting Brawl up to 4 or 5, and then we need to probably worry about Melee or?

Forza, SC4 and BB all have one setup, which should take care of it; not a huge pre-reg turn out so far for them, however we'll still be doing Round Robin's for any game that has a turnout less than 8 - so don't worry about that :)  (not to mention several new SC players and that drunk Tekken player's challenge I shall not let disappear :) )

SSF - unless something happens - should have AT LEAST 3 setups, so we should be well off there.

MvC though - is my concern now.  1.5 - as Timmy lists his for both BB and MvC.  THE PROBLEM with organizing tournaments for new games - we don't know who "the community" is yet, making it hard to know who to work to get hardware out...

MARVEL PLAYERS - can I get a few of you that own PS3 to bring setups?
(a setup = a TV, console and game)
2 to 3 setups should do it unless we have a serious last minute turn out.  Solidus is bringing one, so we really just need one to two more.  Please consider helping us out here - the more hardware we have, the faster it goes, and that means the more freeplay you'll have after the tournament, and before the event ends.  We WILL BE WAIVING the 5$ organization fee for anyone that brings a setup we use.  Speak up so we know, we want to make sure we have no issues come event day!

PS3's - YAY!  I just don't want to be underprepared for one of the first MvC3 events in the area - so around 3 should be okay, I just wanted to make sure we had more than 1 or 2.

As far as Rules, working with the hardcore 2D players in OKC - this is what I've got so far:

SSF4:

* Double elimination
* 99 seconds
* 2/3 rounds
* 2/3 games (3/5 grand finals)
* You may request blind pick for first game
* No turbo allowed
* Winner of each game must keep same character choice, but may change ultra choice if opponent changes character
* Pausing game results in forfeiture of round, unless the opponent agrees to continue or the pause clearly did not affect gameplay (e.g., during ultra animation)

MvC3:

* Double elimination
* 99 seconds
* 2/3 games (3/5 grand finals)
* You may request blind pick for first game
* No turbo allowed
* Winner of each game must keep same character/assist choices
* Simple mode not allowed
* Pausing game results in forfeiture of game, unless the opponent agrees to continue or the pause clearly did not affect gameplay (e.g., during level 3 hyper animation)

Add to both:

WHEN PAUSING IS ALLOWED: Pausing is only acceptable at the beginning of the match set, if declared by either or both players to allow for configuring buttons.  Simply rematch afterwards, and start your match.

-The Mages DQ rule: After a match has been called, if a player is two minutes late he will receive a warning. At 4 minutes late, he will be given a loss for the first game of the set. After six minutes, he will be given a loss of the entire set.

 - You are responsible for labelling and bringing your own controller to all tournaments; please keep track of them at all times, as organizers, venue, and their sponsors are not responsible for lost controllers, etc.

No mention of the DLC, I'll ask them about that now...  Thoughts from you guys / the National community weighed in yet?

National community- Nothing because there hasn't been a national tournament since the release of DLC and the BIG tournament (Evolution 2011) isn't until late July.

Local communities- I know some Texas tournaments are banning DLC characters because they feel like it's too early to allow them. I also think that solves the problem of getting enough setups since DLC is no longer required. HOWEVER, as a TO myself, I do not like banning anything that's completely fair. I think DLC are a part of the game and competitors should know how to fight them on Day 1, so we aren't banning DLC characters at our tournament. I think it's your call.

i think DLC is totally fine, the ONLY downfall of it being a non-requirement are people who do use them and can play them, not the people to don't play against them and don't know how

As a TO I'm fine with DLC unless otherwise noted by national standards. Even if someone is banned I will sometimes allow at local tourneys since stakes are lower and games are  more friendly. At this tournament, my setup has the DLC so if its otherwise unavailable then anyone maining Shuma/Jill can use mine.

How many people is AR coming with? Anyone for Smash? I dunno if I can get my doubles partner to go to ARK with me, so I might need a Melee team mate (preferable Marth or Fox, I play peach).

I'll be bringing one setup that could be used for SSF4 and for Marvel so long as my evo monitor comes in before Saturday. Expected date of Wednesday, but I'm sure UPS could screw it up somehow.

I've got PS3 and 360, so I just need to know for sure what we're running these games on. I have SSF4 for both, and I have Marvel for PS3 right now,  but I could probably go get a 360 copy.

Also, I'll buy Jill/Shuma if needed. I don't think that people should be kept from playing legit characters just because they aren't purchased. James Chen was tearing it up at Marvel Madness last night with Shuma.

Yes sir, I am, I should have been more specific.

Also, I can't seem to find the FFA registration?

Yea that was an oversight on my part.  As when i made the pre-reg i wasnt for sure if we where going to do the FFA or not..  Register for the 2v2 and you will be fine . sorry for the confusion.  and we will let timmy answer your question about the headsets,  As he is our expert on the Halo rules.

Thanks

Hey this might also be some food for thought when deciding wether to go with mvc3 for 360 or ps3.
There was an article that was posted on eventhubs recently looking for the link but the ps3 actually has frame drops and can affect high level play. It says that for casual gamers it doenst really matter though. Found it
http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/mar/10/ps3-360-hd-video-comparisons-tech-notes-mvc3/#comments

SSF3 / MvC3 - WILL BE ON PS3 FOR THIS EVENT - NO QUESTIONS ABOUT IT.

It's not up for argument or debate, please do not bring it up again, I don't want people to say "well I saw 360 BLAH" on the thread and get confused.  PS3.  Some people will have extra sticks.

As for debate, feel free to show up to the event and make your voice heard THERE - THAT is when we'll discuss it - AT the event for FUTURE events, not 3/26; consulted with the big 2D crowd from OKC on this being okay for now, and we are sticking with PS3 for just 3/26, and then re-appraising for the future - there.  Not on this thread :)

--

Mvskokee - we are doing MvC on PS3, however if you could bring the monitor to be used - we'd appreciate it, and if it's EVO / no lag standards, I'll waive the organization fee for entry on the monitor alone :)  Please show up early enough for us to figure that out, plug it up, etc :)

AnimeFreak - NEED BB RULES.  Especially if TX people are showing up, want to have rules up and clear for them pls!!

Went with this post for MvC and SSF rules:  http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php/topic,3367.msg42317.html#msg42317

DLC - Can we go NOT ALLOWED And everyone be okay?  Just don't want it to be unfair lol.

--

Halo FFA - single elim, and just pre-reg for Halo 2v2 - as we forgot to include it as a option, our bad :)

Halo 2v2 - is double elim unless we have 200 people show up, and don't have time; will assess before 3pm, and of course, refunds will be available if we deviate from any sort of established plan as always.

ALMOST 90 PRE-REG?  CRAZY TIMES - SEE YOU GUYS OUT THERE!!

X A

(for the record, pre-reg usually = 1/4th of what actually attends; free shirts probably skew, so 1/3rd?  Maybe 1/2?  We'll see...)

lol SSF3?!? since when?!?

BB rules.
2/3 rounds
2/3 matches (3/5 finals)
99 seconds
DLC characters allowed
Unlimited chatacters banned
Simple mode banned

easy peasy

also NO DLC for MvC3 is also unfair for those who use them.

Yup DLC = Downloadable content such as Jill/Shuma.

We should allow DLC and ban the new balance patch <_<. I won't even play Sentinel but he shouldn't have 900k health.

We should allow MVC DLC Characters. BB DLC is allowed too right? We can't prepare for ARK III if we don't have access to all matchups. There isn't anything wrong with the DLC chars, they are fine.

Also, without a patch select option I think most of the setups will have the sent patch. Thanks Crapcom for crushing my childhood love for you.

FORZA PLAYERS:  we've had some debate on the rules, and when it comes down to it - we've already stated we are "out on a limb" on your game; so we've got some rules we thought could be a good guideline / starting point:

http://www.wcg.com/6th/2010/games/rule_2010_gf/WCG_2010_GF_FM3_Rules_ver_1.2.pdf
http://asian.wcg.com/rules/forza-motorsports-3-rules.html

We'll talk it over with the gamers present, and go with a ruleset that is agreed to by all that is there, or worse case, majority decision.

--

hendrixplayer - 90+ pre-reg is good for an event like this; what I was DISAPPOINTED IN WAS SKORCHERS INABILITY TO READ THE THREAD!  lol

Normally - pre-reg only reflects 1/4th to at best 1/3rd the ACTUAL turn out; because we are giving away free shirts that might have skewwed our numbers up to 1/3rd or 1/2 reflected; we'll know in a few days!  Eitherway, if people come out, and have fun, that's all that really matters to us.  (OH - and hopefully, they'll help spread the word about OKgamers :)  lol)

Solidus - well, this is a one day event, and that makes it easier for some.  Ultimately though - after OHSNAP and before this - I was able to do at least 2 "volunteer recruiting" runs into Tulsa schools/colleges - and that could atest to the fact we see a lot of new names.  It's a GOOD THING not bad lol; now if you guys communicate and work with them, maybe you'll have some new community members!  YAY!

GOSU - That should be fine - the earlier you are there, the more casual matches you guys can get in before the tournament; also the more hardware we have there the better we know how to lay things out early, etc.   Thanks again man, and we'll see you in a few days.

--

SHOWING UP WITHOUT PRE-REG AND WANTING A SHIRT?

People who pre-regged = first priority on getting shirts.  However, on a first come first served until we run out sort of deal - we will give shirts to anyone that wants one after they fill out our "gamer  survey".  We are encouraging everyone in attendance to take a few minutes before their event and answer our short set of questions; it'll help guide us in the future.

So - for friends that hate the internet, or just hear about this at the last second?  That's the story - we won't turn anyone wanting a shirt away until we are out

Hope you guys are excited, we'll see you in a few days!!  Spread the word too - never know about who'll find out at the last second!

SPEAKING OF WHICH - did you notice the SPECIAL FREE PRIZE for someone pulled from the FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE?  That's right - someone in attendance who said they were going to attend this on Facebook?  Get's a special prize!  COULD BE YOU - go "attend" to be eligible!!

Also - first post updated, rules should all be linked to; pretty straight forwards on most.

--

This your first tournament?
MAN - THIS IS A LOT OF INFORMATION - DON'T WORRY:

A - we get detailed to cover all the questions we can on the thread FIRST, so gamers don't "not show up because they never had a question answered, and were too lazy to post the question."  Yes, we are sure this has, and does happen...

B - the rules are so "in depth" - to protect the new players, and vets; never heard of this glitch or that?  You'll be fine, it's those that have that we constrain.

C - MAN - what is with your times?  (Just got this question through the contact form, so let's answer it for everyone)

The event has to have a "start time" for some media outlets, etc.  So we state 12:30pm on the thread, 12pm in other places.
Setting up all the Halo hardware, and the way gamers will want it, can take easily an hour, thus we start Halo setup at 11am.

If you playing Halo and bringing hardware, try and at least get there by 12pm.
If you are not bringing hardware, be there by 12:15pm for FFA, 2:30pm for 2v2's.
(2v2 player and can't get there by 12?  That's fine - most Halo players play in both, thus we try and get all the hardware we can to GET FFA DONE in time; every console can count.)

Why we  state tentative - because the simple truth is no matter how well we plan, or try, gamers with hardware show up late, hardware can cause issues, etc - so we let people know to be there on time, and be patient, we do our best.

For Halo Players:
It's also important to remember - if you've never been to this campus to plan a few minutes into your trip for parking, etc - we WILL be doing the best we can to start on time for this, to give the FFA a chance to finish before 3pm;  it's always better to be a bit early and wait on us than late and not able to play because the brackets are too far in.

For Fighting Gamers:
We get a LOT of pressure to start on time, and prefer to as well;  we may have been lax at smaller events in the past, but do not assume we'll WAIT at this event.  We have more time than in the past, but that doesn't mean we'll wait around.
If you have hardware, show up 30 minutes before the tournament AT LEAST, so we can set it up, get it ready.
If you don't have hardware, show up AT LEAST 15 minutes before to sign up, and remember if everyone else does this?  The tournament will start later, so please consider showing up earlier; it helps us start on time.

...and most of this talk?  Is like the rules - for the trouble makers :)

Tournaments are a lot of fun, and one of the only true ways a gamer can TRULY test themselves; it's an experience like no other.  Casual gamers should always have at least tried it once, hardcore gamers are always wanting to know where they stand currently - good times and crazy outcomes - are had by all.

NEW to tournaments or OKgamers.com?  If you are a casual gamer, we hope you have a lot of fun, and come back and join us!   If you want to get better at your game - or consider yourself a "hardcore" gamer? Know this: for every game at this event other than Forza lol, we HAVE an established OK area community for you to get to know.  New gamers to play against, new tricks to learn; maybe even state rivals we need help with...
Sure, there may be a few better than you; but that's not a permanent situation.

...want to get better?  Join the community, go to their gatherings, learn more of the tips and tricks - and you could be the one winning the next tournament; every community changes, give your local group a chance, talk to them at this event, you might just find something that'll surprise you.

Established OK area gamers?  Know this - the more your groups grow, the higher numbers that can attend events?  The more that directly translates to attention and thus $$ and prizes from sponsors that organizers like OKgamers can add to the mix.  OKgamers has lost LITERALLY $1,000's of dollars in event sponsorship opportunities because: No Tekken Community.  Not large enough turn outs of FPS.  Etc. JUST LAST YEAR.

ANY GAMER THAT HAS DONE THE MATH KNOWS: You want more competition, and a bigger community - that's how we ALL get better at our games; so talk to the new players, welcome like you normally do.  Just to be crystal clear: the more OKgamers grows, and local gamer communities WORK TOGETHER through OKgamers and with each other - the bigger the events, and the more sponsors will care; help us help you - show up to events.

Grow your local communities, focusing on the importance of gatherings.  Network and post your events on OKgamers to gain more attention, and continue the cycle.  Prove - Oklahoma is the great place for gamers that it is.

See you Saturday.

OH RLY?  Who are you a clone of AnimeF!  lol, anyway - that's great, we'll see you there - and depending on what game "needs it" put your hardware to good use!  Make sure to bring up the fact you have this hardware, etc so we can get it placed and we'll get that organization fee waived.

Solidus - switched?  Josh signed up for Brawl, not Melee, I think the thing is right...  Anyway - good times eitherway!

IF WE HAVE ENOUGH HARDWARE - Brawl / Melee Doubles is fine - just DO NOT RUN OUT OF TIME :)

Short answer - I won't promise anything; gamers may not want to delay, and it'll really heavily depend on hardware and turnout.

Long answer - we spoke with PnT about the double booking as our event was posted first, etc - but they are going a long with national timing, etc.

I already pushed MvC back till 3 because of this to try and give gamers some time; hopefully I won't regret that late of a start lol.

Anyway - I've done what I can, it'll come down to hardware and turnout tomorrow to determine whether or not I can do that; safe assumption will be no; as gamers that showed up for this event will want it to run properly, etc.  However, we'll put it to a discussion of those gathered.

Great meeting ALL you guys at the Tulsa event! Feel free to add me on Facebook or PM me so I can get you my number so we can kick it in the near future. Special thanks to Saif and all the other TOs there that have helped us promote our event as well as made our group feel welcome. Man, those were some great matches and it was a great turnout for both Marvel and SSF4! I talked to all the Arkansas guys on the way back and this was by far one of the most fun tournaments we've been to in a very long time. All you people were great to talk to and it was awesome kicking it with more of you guys at the hotel later that night. Arkansas took over that Marriott conference room haha. Two marvel setups, two street fighter setups, and like 14 people all running a mini-tournament.

Hope to see you guys at A.R.K. III! http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php/topic,3408.0.html

And to all the guys and TOs that wanted to talk to me later on in the tournament day and didn't have a chance (like Timmy Skorcher), feel free to hit me up and we can talk about whatever it was you wanted to talk about. Like you guys, we're just trying to build and improve upon the community. Whatever you want to do, we'll try to help and support.

EVENT NOTES:

Thank you guys for all the awesome feedback and well wishing!  You can definitely say that "bad news travels faster than good" - so when there IS something good to say, we love to hear that too :)   It keeps the TO's knowing they are doing a good job, and well, we appreciate the well wishing, etc - thank you.

BIG SHOUT OUTS TO ALL THE GAMERS WHO BROUGHT HARDWARE:  from 5+ SSF setups to 4 MvC setups, plenty of Brawl and Melee setups, etc - you guys really helped make this event the awesome and timely event it was!  Thank you!

**Halo Reach - had some problems for 2v2; after the 4th round of losers we effectively switched to single elimination and handled the rest of the losers bracket as a 1 game competition to finish it up before we had to leave the venue.  I wasn't personally over in the Halo area as much as I would have liked for this event I'm having to go off what I've heard from stories of gamers pulling hardware because they were mad they lost, to TO's being slow to replace games after they finished...

...know this.  Any future OKgamers.com event held in the Tulsa area and ran by me?  Saif aka X A?  Will be ran by a different TO set optimized to avoid this in the future.  While I can't speak to all the hardware issues, and I'm sure most of you know our hardware sponsor that helped run the event as well HxC did have THREE of their 360's red ring on them right before this event lol...  We take reports of slow management seriously, and will not let that slide; thank you for your patience.

Forza 3?~!   Didn't happen lol.  One of our OKgamers staff and the Game X Change Tulsa guy were the only ones signed up by the time;  unlike Blaz Blue who might have more people show up if we waited...  Yea.  Forza was a dead issue lol.  We tried - and we'll take the info from the surveys, tabulate it, and know what you want in the future.

News:

Yes - OKgamers.com is NOW officially a 501.c3!  Aka - any business looking for a tax write off?  Wanting to help the Gaming community by sponsoring through event prizes, etc?  Can work with OKgamers and make their products, etc donated a tax write off!!   Also, you'll find as a legitimate non-profit in OK, businesses that you might have spoken with in the past about the OKgamers concept?  Posting, helping out with events, perhaps sponsoring, etc?  Will now be able to take gaming in OK more seriously!

If you have businesses you've talked to in the past?  Please - revisit them, and let them know we'd love to work with them to help make OK an even better place for gamers!

SURVEYS:  we had over 60 turned back in - thanks!  While I know evidently 50+ of those were probably people just "getting shirts" - we appreciate the information, and will be using it to shape our future choices, events, etc.

UNBLURRING THE LINES FOR OKgamers.com "official events.  We've had some gamers that have been confused on efforts, "OKgamers vs not OKgamers" etc.  While we've got some clarity coming out of our new 3.0 design we are working on putting up soon?  Know that we are also going to have a "OKgamers official events" section thrown up on the front page.

What is an "official event"?  Well - much like Youtube - we provide a space for content to be placed - instead of video content, it's event news and information for gamers in the OK area to focus on.  The staff / supporters / volunteers and directors of OKgamers?  Do NOT put up all the content that goes into our free to use and post to Events and Tournaments area.  The whole purpose of the site is to be a place gamers and businesses can go to and find out about gamer related events in the OK area; so of course we don't post it all, etc :)

Who is HxC / Game X Change Tulsa / etc?  OKgamers.com is a free resource for businesses and gamers to use to spread the word about events; think of it as a digital bulletin board or calendar for gamers to check from around the OK area - to find "digital flyers" or event threads about events in their area and beyond.  HxC - a OKC group that is in the process of building a LAN center?  Found the concept of OKgamers important, and does it's best to spread the message / info about OKgamers out there, while using the site as well.  Game X Change Tulsa, Jenks based Alien Games, Wizards Asylum, Dragon Crown Games, Family Video and many other businesses posting on the site?  See the value as well, and take time to post their info up.  THESE BUSINESSES ARE AWESOME - and we hope many others join their ranks if they are throwing gaming related events!!

Why do you have events yourself / these "official events"?  It's a necessary part of the cycle - like "priming the pump" of an old car.
AT FIRST:  OKgamers.com was starting out, and barely had any events posted monthly, etc.  If we didn't have events that volunteers and supporters of OKgamers.com mission can promote, and work with?  We'd have little to no reason to HAVE gamers go to the site; there was nothing posted on the site - businesses and gamers didn't KNOW about OKgamers to USE OKgamers yet...

As we threw events and got the word out about the site, we had businesses come to us, and ask for help.  We realized this would create a very strong "win-win" situation; businesses wanting more customers, traffic etc - would get that.  Gamers - would get more events.  A real win win.

So now - after 5 years and a steady stream of content is now being posted to OKgamers forums?  We continue to throw events to help "prime the pump" - and have content on the site; however we mainly work directly with businesses in whatever communities we have volunteers and a presence in - to help OK be that much better of a place for gamers.  Currently our strongest efforts are in the OKC and Tulsa areas;  we've got a TO that moved to Stillwater for college, and we are working on helping out there more and more.

Some people want to know what "our staff" will be at, etc - so we'll be making a list for 2011, and updating it as we get more things, etc.  We haven't done this in the past - because it's not about what WE DO; the concept of OKgamers is of community, what is going on IN that community, not what the organizers of the site work with.  However, to aid in clarity and because it's been requested so much, we'll build that list for the future.

DID YOU GET A T-SHIRT?
We'd hold on to that if we were you :)  From discounts and special prizes, to never knowing what random thing you'll get for wearing it - that shirt IS OKgamers 2011 access to all things awesome :)

WEAR IT TO AN EVENT - get $$ off or even free entry?!
WEAR IT TO AN EVENT - gain exclusive access and/or swag?!
WEAR IT RANDOMLY - OKgamers TO's will have random swag through out the year to give out; if we catch you in public - you shall be rewarded :)

Remember Tokyo in Tulsa?
 - TOKYO IN TULSA - 2011 - When you arrive to get a gamer pass, or normal pass wearing the 5 year anniversary shirt?  5$ off your membership for wearing the shirt!

And that's just one of the first ones we can talk about...  SPORT OKGAMERS 5 YEAR SHIRT IN 2011 - AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!

More coming as we edit this post; also keep an eye out for "OKgamers "5 year" shirt pass, deals and specials to come!!

First of all, let me say, I very much enjoyed the tournament! Very friendly staff, great group of competitors. Few hiccups, but nothing that isn't fixable. I'll be back for sure.

I am missing a Halo: Reach disc. My team, Strat Dubz 2, played the 3rd to last match of the tourny. I was using a silver xbox, which I believe was one of Ricky's. Dallas in in a few days, I need that as soon as earthly and/or humanly possible. :)

Thanks again,

For those of you that don't know X_A, he's completely serious when he says this. OKGamers events are always run smoothly if possible. If problems do manage to slip through the cracks, they are dealt with swiftly and efficiently. You can be sure that any problem that happens to occur at one tournament won't happen at the next one. There's a reason Arkansas drives 5+ hours to attent OKGamers' tournies. We have complete faith and confidence in X_A as a TO.

Hardware was not the issue at all. We had 3 red ring xbox  360s. But we still provided 8 xbox 360s, 8 monitors, 3 halo reach disc, which was the problem. I posted for help with disc. Had we had more halo reach disc. single elimination in the 4th round would have never happened.

Also didnt know entry was that low. I wouldve recommended single elimination from the get go.
