General Chat / .Hack//Infection

I'm just curious, but does anyone happen to know where I could get the four games in the series for somewhat cheap?
I'm not expecting to get all four of them for an extremely low price, because I know at least two of the games are probably somewhat hard to find. And I looked the games up on Amazon, and the last game in the series, Quarantine, even if I were to buy it used off of there, is $42.

I don't care if I were to get them used, I just care to actually have the game disc. The OVA discs would be nice, too, but the game is what's important.

My mom, for my birthday once, bought me .Hack//Infection used, and there was no game disc. Just the OVA disc.

Reason I'm asking, is I recently watched a Let's Play of Infection, and I really want to play the game now, because I rather liked it.

Edit: Oh, I guess I should mention the game names.

First game: .hack//Infection (or .hack: Infection)
Second game: .hack//Mutation (or .hack: Mutation)
Third game: .hack//Outbreak (or .hack: Outbreak)

I did, and I have to say, they were AWESOME. I can't really figure out the right words to describe it for me. It was my first concert too, so, that just makes it even more amazing.

Only, it's not like a SERIOUS question about games tournaments or whatever. I'm just curious.

How many people on OKgamers play games just for the fun of it? Or do you just play for the competitive edge of it all?

I just play for the fun of it. I'm really not much of a competitive person. I go to tournaments for fun. It's nice to win or get in the top 3 or whatever, but I just like the fun of it all.

General Chat / Final Fantasy XIII to be released for Xbox 360

I made this topic mainly on the point of me wanting to know what OKGamers thought of this choice.

The Final Fantasy series has been under the Playstation name ever since the Playstation 1 came out in the late 90's, and before then it was stuck on the NES and SNES platforms. But now, it's going multi-systemed for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Personally, I couldn't really care which platform it came out for, but this gives me reason not to buy a PS3. I have nothing against the Playstation console. Personally, I love the Playstation consoles, as the PS2 has some of the best RPG's ever made.

But I've wanted a 360 ever since it came out, so now that one of my favorite RPG series are coming out on it, I have all the more reason to buy one.

Yeah, yeah. I know I've made a topic about this before, but there seems to be a SEVERE lack of Guitar Hero'ers lately. All being occupied with whatever else is going on.

I'm posting this in Local Players simply because I want to find out if I'm really the last Guitar Hero player on the face of OKGamers. No small or big tournaments for Guitar Hero have been around lately, or in an area my mom would like to drive through. The last one I remember was at someone's house about a month ago, but Guitar Hero got cancelled, and the other one after that, well... That was two or three months ago.

So, if you play guitar hero, competitively or just for fun, let me know I'm not the only Guitar Hero'er left on this site, please?

PS: I don't have a 360, so no gamertags from me if you come here looking for one. I'm a PS2 player. Can't afford a fancy 360 right now.

For those who don't feel like reading everything related to net neutrality, here's some information regarding an aspect of it you may be interested in: online gaming.

Per the ECA
"Without Net Neutrality, your Internet Service Provider is free to charge you extra for playing World of Warcraft, to interfere with Xbox Live, or to completely shut off your ability to access your favorite Web sites. Net Neutrality affects your entire online experience!"


Per Ramp Rate
"What will be murdered with no fallback or replacement is the nascent market of interactive entertainment ? particularly online gaming. Companies like Blizzard Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Sony Online Entertainment, and countless others, have built a business on the fundamental assumption of relatively low latency bandwidth being available to large numbers of consumers. Furthermore, a large - even overwhelming - portion of the value of these offerings comes from their "network effects" - the tendency for the game to become more enjoyable and valuable as larger number of players joins the gaming network."

"With the permanent barriers that the removal of net neutrality will erect for these uses, the worst-case scenario includes three waves of change:

* One or more mainstream ISPs will introduce excessive lag that will effectively prohibit their users from participating in online games. The move will not be aimed at restricting usage per se, but rather to extract a fee from the game operator. It was a factory for online discussion, exchange of ideas, and, ultimately, one of the better bulletin boards for content of all shapes and forms. However, as the Internet became mainstream, Usenet users were marginalized (typically with "cease and desist" letters citing excessive use of "unlimited" internet packages). Anyone play any free online/downloadable MMORPG's? Just wondering. The only one's I've really tried playing were FlyFF and Maplestory. I'd like try some other ones though.

So, anyone play those two or any others?

People who have played Super Smash Bros.(All types, I think) should know where the 'song' came from. xD And, well, the Guitar Hero thing is self explanatory.

Local Players General / Guitar Hero

Yeah. I'm getting bored of it just being my friend and me playing Guitar Hero together, and am deciding to make a thread here about meeting with people who also play. While I can do that in General Chat like I have been, I'm putting this here because, I want to play against or with someone different. ANYONE. I don't care about what difficulty you play on. While I play on Expert, and you play on Easy, I'd be happy to play against you on Easy. As long as you don't care too, we're fine. Any console as well. Since I only have a PS2, a multiplayer thing wouldn't happen if you have another console. Unless you have an extra guitar, of course.

So... yeah.

Edit: This was more or likely created out of my boredom, as well. Then again, that just spawns off from me being bored of playing with /just/ my friend. Also, I hope you don't mind me being 15 either, if you're older than I am. xD

...FFR? I mean FFR, not DDR, for those of you thinking it's a typo.

It's pretty much a flash based version of DDR on the internet, hence the name FlashFlashRevolution. It's like Stepmania, you play it with the arrow keys.

I think it's pretty fun, and wanted to see if anyone at okgamers knew about it and all.
