If you want to call and give us your credit card # to pay your registration before the 17th, that's fine. We will not just take your name. We have had to many no-shows to take payment on day of. Kills the tournament. Also makes it to where the bracket has to altered right before the tournament, which slows things down for everyone.

Store phone # is 405.359.6777

Thanks for the heads up. When I put that notice on the web site (6 months ago) it was planned as a FFA but we (by popular demand) have changed it to 2v2. Tournament played on 360.

19
If you are under 18, you can still play. Just stop by the store to have Mom or Dad fill out a parental permission form.

20
Edited to correct dates...and yes search and destroy only.

21
Yes.. It is 2v2 search and destroy. $20 entry fee per team. Double elimination. Registration ends on 10/17/09. Check-in is at 1:30. Tourney starts at 2pm sharp. ABSOLUTELY no registrations will be taken on day of tournament.

First Prize- Free copy of Modern Warfare 2 for each team member. Will be able to pick up on release date.

Second Prize- 50% off a copy of Modern Warfare 2 for each player.

May pay more places depending on size of field. As always, free food will be provided.

Hope to see more people from this board participating.  ;D

Sam's Club and Costco.com do 20x30 posters for $10 each. It's in their photo processing center. WAY cheaper than FedEx/Kinko's.

We use Sam's Club and they have them done in 2 hours. Just need the file in jpg format, upload it to their website, and pick it up.

Tournament Planning and Hype / Re: Tournaments in Edmond
« on: May 06, 2009, 11:20:14 am »
I'm not sure if you have been to our store but we can host your tournament. We have 8 high Def TVs and all of the game hardware needed. For an event like yours... you would promote the event, collect the entries, gather the prizes, and determine the game and rules. Where we take over is on tournament day, we run the whole thing for you. Bracket, announcements, keeping everything moving, providing food and drinks. You could even compete yourself, is desired.

We can help promote your event to our customers if you are having a tough time getting the word out.

We have a flat fee rate for an event like this in a 4 hour block of time.

Call the store on a Monday, Wed. or Fri. and ask for Mark. I can give you more details.

General Chat / Re: Rebates for Game Developers Introduced in Oklahoma
« on: February 09, 2009, 01:05:03 pm »
You make some good points about the local talent angle and the future.

In my opinion, this industry is beginning to move away slightly from the "only M rated titles sell" myth. Nintendo is the leader in this, obviously.  Mario Kart Wii was the biggest mover of software units in 08 according to NPD. EA is beginning to follow suit saying that they are now going to devote more of their resources to dev and pub for the Wii. I believe a developer can be successful and not do M rated titles. They just have to be quality games.

If I were in the House or Senate, I would vote for the bill since it has no upfront costs. However, I am skeptical of it's impact.

I was the store owner interviewed in the NewsChannel4 story. Jesse Wells (the reporter) is a gamer himself and he comes to see us whenever they have a game related story. In theory, this bill is a good idea and I have no problem with the " no M rated" stipulation. However, as I stated in the piece, with all of these devs and pubs cutting staff and closing alotgether, who is going to spend the money to move their operation (and people) here? No one. It's a bill that is 3-5 years too late.

As for the Senator, the report said "He did not want to defend his legislation." They asked for comment and, apparently, he refused.
