Unfortunately after months and months of issues - SMF has an exploit that they haven't fixed yet.

So, we are going to have to switch the forum to Read Only.

We are currently looking for a forum that we can convert to; phpBB seems like the only option beyond myBB?  If anyone has feedback on this please go through our Contact Form or email us at staff at OKgamers.com

Sorry for this issue; once we've found a solution for conversion, we'll make announcements, etc.

WE HAVE SWITCHED OUR EVENT SYSTEM TO A NEW (and well, awesome) CALENDAR SYSTEM:

www.okgamers.com/events

You can sort by gaming genre, or just gaming IP.  Want just Halo?  You get just Halo; you can even subscribe and have JUST your game events come to your personal calendar!!

A bug meant we had to pull our old theme - with all the attention to Facebook, the forums were overlooked until I added the Social page, with a link to it, and many other resources.

Course, you didn't click Social - so what would you call it to make sure you knew it had such items there?  Guess we could call the link "boards" and then link to a yea?

Also, in 2013 - do you really feel forums are as important as a facebook page, group, etc?

I assume this'll be fine to post in www.okgamers.com/events

There's now a button to submit your own events as well!

*EDIT*

Or I'll login and see that you already submitted it :)  Approved, sorry for the confusion!

Well, there is also a lot of fighters in AR - if you are looking for some, post on the FB group and I'll link them in!

If you are looking for fellow gamers in OK:
http://okgamers.com/groups/

There are also 3 or 4 private or semi-private gaming groups; just depends on what you focus on, etc.  Next tournament would be a great time to network, and get involved.

World Of Fighters isn't on that list due to their FB status, but they are fairly open and meet fairly regularly in Tulsa and organize via that group linked.

Between posting in the OK FGC group, and World Of should get things going!

Low attendance, my mother's death and during all that Tim's comments pretty much killed that :)

For you, we'd do something though.  Let me know if you want to yea.

As gamers move from using forums to more social media solutions like Facebook Groups, OKgamers has started to adapt as well!  As a result, the events will no longer be posted onto forums like these, but our Beta Calendar solution

EVENTS - OKgamers Events Calendar (beta):
http://okgamers.com/events/

EVENT SUBMISSION: http://okgamers.com/event-form/

While we will not be removing our Local Players forum, we've found most gamers prefer Facebook Groups over Forums, so we are also introducing our...

Local Players Group Resources: http://okgamers.com/groups/

We are in the process of converting the main site over to this as well.  Please share these new resources with your fellow gamers in the meantime!

Truth be told - OKgamers is in a transition - while some that either hate FB or are already used to forums?  Use the forums...
...however the VAST majority of gamers are Facebook focused, and don't like / are scared or tired of forums?

As a result, OKgamers has been creating this resource:

www.okgamers.com/groups

There you'll find several OK located FGC resources.  Also if you are in Lawton, there have been several tournaments in that area you should check out the forum "Tournament Aftermath" for more details there.

Also make sure you check out Techcon and other FGC supporting events!

We realize several decisions are not made; also:

Starcraft 2
Super Smash Bros Brawl

ARE OPEN POSITIONS NOW.

We will update the requests on CL positions after 9/21/21.

If there's interest we could do a casual tournament, but plans right now are to just do free play, and meet some new fighting game community members!

Big ol' hiccup on street fighter.  We did not have the updated Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition version 2012.  I found out that the systems all had Super Street Fighter 4 disc only.

Thankfully AFGN's Maxx was there with two extra setups for SSF4: AE2012 and UMvC3.  Without him we wouldn't have gone through the tournament as quickly as we did.  Also Philip Lee and Ruty also had their setups to help.

This was the first time for an event to be "Powered by Gamestop", and OKgamers didn't all the kinks out on the version of SSF; sorry about that!  Thanks for locals and the always awesome AFGN team for pulling through on that; next year we'll have that fixed fo sho!
