Want your 360 fixed?
« on: June 30, 2009, 12:49:38 am »
I already posted this on the MLG OK thread, but I'll spread the love on OKG too  ;D

If anybodies 360 is currently in "paper weight" mode, I can probably fix it for you. I've already fixed boxes with red ring, overheating, E74 video error, and disc drive issues. I figure I'd help peeps out as I actually enjoy fixing these things and could help someone save a few bucks (quite a few bucks...). Just lemme know!

Sure I'll throw money at you to void my warranty with an unofficial repair!

Good one... hopefully if you still had warranty you would be smart enough to send it to MS to get fixed for free. But for people who are out of warranty and don't want to drop $100 for a half decent repair, this is a viable option IMO.

If it's under warranty and the RROD (I don't remember if they started covering E74) then all you need to pay for is a box to ship it to them.  Everything else is covered by them.

I have a question about the warranty, as well.

Is it possible for me to still get a warranty for my Xbox even though I've had it since Christmas?

Check your documentation. The usual factory warranty is 1 year, so yes your 360 is still covered in case of failure, also the extended warranty for redrings is AFAIK still applicable to 3 years just for that specific issue. However since the Jasper model was released it has become more of a non-issue.

I don't actually think I have a warranty, so I was asking if it's still possible for me to get one for mine.

No.

IRO is good. I recommend you use him only if you dont have a warranty on your damaged 360

No.

Every box has a 1 year warranty on everything, and a 3 year warranty on a few specific RRODs.
