D&D Adventurers League Epic at SoonerCon 27

Calling all adventurers! Are you ready to face the forces of Thay in a showdown for the fate of Mulmaster? The Magocracy of Thay, ruled by the Lich Szazz Tam, offered assistance to Mulmaster in her time of need after the destruction wrought by the Cults of Elemental Evil. However, as of late, the Factions of Faerun have been calling for intervention, fearing that the Thay will completely take the city for its own. Expect high adventure and lots of undead!

This Dungeons & Dragons Epic is open to D&D Adventurers League characters levels 1-20 and takes place Saturday evening of the con.

GameDev DrinkUp is a national monthly meet up for devs, gamers, and nerds alike to kick back and unwind between con craziness! A con party away from the con, if you will? Grab a few drinks and play some old school arcade games and discuss the latest in gaming, every 2nd Thursday @ The Max!

After a short hiatus and PAX South, GDDU is back and gearing up for GDC! Our team is producing an indie title and would love to connect with any local independent studios, teams, or those even remotely interested in indie development in the Tulsa area.

Gamers Enjoyed Tabletop, VR, Nerf Wars and More at SoonerCon 26

Gamers are recovering this week from another successful SoonerCon. The 26th year of this convention took place June 23 – 25 at the Reed Conference Center in Midwest City.

SoonerCon is an annual grassroots pop culture convention that focuses on local artists, authors, sci-fi and fantasy fan groups, cosplay and gaming. Gaming at the convention is mostly tabletop focused with a few retro video game consoles presented by the Oklahoma Retro Gaming Society, Oculus virtual reality and PC gaming presented by Microsoft and Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator provided by Raphael “Bubba” Dean Wilson.

The convention also offers outdoor games such as Nerf wars, Muggle Quidditch, live-action role plays, stick horse jousting and Hungry Hungry Humans (a life-sized Hungry Hungry Hippos game). All sales of Nerf guns and ammo went to the charity NAMI Oklahoma to improve mental health services.

SoonerCon attendees had the opportunity to purchase Nerf guns for the outdoor Nerf events. All proceeds benefited NAMI Oklahoma.
